- Fallout MMO Proposal Detailed, Budgeted at $75 Million -
Interplay has filed a proposal to the SEC detailing specific financial plans
for a MMO set in the Fallout world. The project is estimated at a total of
$75 million, with $5 million for preproduction, $40 million for production,
and $30 million for the launch. Development is stated to begin in January
2007, with the game launching in July 2010.
- DEFCON patch v1.2 - Introversion has issued
a
new patch for DEFCON, bringing their strategy game of mutually assured
destruction to version 1.2. This update implements a new mod support system,
a new render option, and more.
- Birth of America Patch v1.10d - The AGEOD Forums offer the
release of
a new patch for Birth of America, updating the revolutionary strategy
game to version 1.10d.
- Warhammer: Mark of Chaos European Patch v1.1 - Hot on the heels
of yesterday's English patches,
a new EU patch for Warhammer: Mark of Chaos has been released to update
the European editions of the medieval fantasy 3D real-time strategy game by

- Myst Online: Uru Live Beta Launches On Gametap - Gametap has
announced that a beta
version of
Myst Online: Uru Live is now available through Gametap's game
subscription service.
- Command And Conquer 3 Pre-Order Bonus -
People who pre-order the game will receive a bonus box when the game
ships in late March 2007 that will contain, among other things, the full
version of Command and Conquer Gold, an in-game map and wallpaper,
behind-the-scenes videos and more.
- Two Worlds Collector's Edition - ZUXXEZDIREKT offers
preorders of a
Two Worlds Collector's Edition, a trilingual bundle of Reality Pump's
upcoming strategy/role-playing game that will be released in European
territories along with the basic edition. The bundle will include a letter

- TOCA 3 Goes amBX -
Philips Announces amBX License Agreements with Codemasters and Introversion
reaffirms amBX support for DEFCON and Darwinia. "Featuring explosive damage

- 3D Realms Gets New DNF Designer - Fansite Duke4.net reports that
3D Realms has picked
up former Ritual level designer John "HAL9000" Schuch to work on Duke
Nukem Forever.

Roboblitz To Get Multiplayer For Free -
Naked Sky announced
today their plans to add an entire multiplayer mode to their recently
released XBLA title
Roboblitz.
The mutiplayer portion was planned for the initial launch of Roboblitz but
due to the size restriction on XBLA (50MB) this feature was scrapped.
- Age of Conan for Xbox 360 - FunCom officially announced that it
is developing a 360 version of its massively multiplayer role playing game,
Age of Conan.
- Dragon Quest IX Announced for Nintendo DS + Arcade - Square Enix
has announced
Dragon
Quest IX for the Nintendo DS. It's the first time in 10 years that the
series will appear on a Nintendo console and it's due for release next year.
A Dragon Quest spin-off game will also appear on Nintendo's Wii console in
2007.
- Payback - commercial gp2x game - GP32/2x Distribution Ltd, the
company responsible for the GP2X Linux handheld gaming console today
announced its first commercially developed game, the bloody 3D crime caper
Payback (video)
This top down classic, originally on Mac and Nintendo systems has been
updated specially for the GP2X, with new 3D graphics, sound and special
effects.
- Play A Violent Video Game... Go To Jail? - I had already
mentioned the fact that German politicians seemed to be overreacting to a
recent school shooting.
Wired's Chris Kohler has some more details on the legislation that has
actually been proposed and apparently it isn't just about banning the games,
but would potentially send all sorts of people to jail for just about any
association with a violent video game -- including playing one. The report
claims: "developers, retailers and players of videos featuring 'cruel
violence' could face up to a year in jail." Players? Can you just imagine
that opening conversation between cellmates when someone explains that he's
been thrown in jail for playing Grand Theft Auto rather than committing
grand theft auto?
