Warner Bros' New Royalty System - briefly
(hx) 02:39 AM CEST - May,27 2004 - Post a comment / read (4)
According to The Hollywood reporter, Warner Brothers Interactive head man Jason Hall wants to do something a little different in order to get better quality games. He wants to charge an extra royalty fee to game developers and publishers who work on games based on Warner Brothers properties if the average review rating of the game is below 70%. But it is an issue for some game publishers, including Atari, whose slate of recent titles includes a game based on Warner Bros.' "The Matrix Reloaded" called "Enter The Matrix." (The shooter title scored 66.8% on GameRakings.com for the PC version and 66.9% for the PlayStation 2 version.)

Maybe this is a good idea. Cuz Enter the matrix just blew. Atari took a big dump all over that one.

That means Warner will be getting a LOT OF MONEY. What was the last killer game based on a movie? I don't remember...

Killer gamer based on a movie? A few of the Star Wars games have been good but I wouldn't say killer. Besides, Warner only wants royalties for games that average under 70%. Games that average under 70% are pretty bad...

Star Wars games are BORING. The only SW game that held my attention for more than 30 minutes was Jedi Knight 2 Multiplayer at a LAN shop.
