Warco: The News Game Revealed
- briefly

Developed as a partnership between Brisbane, Australia based Defiant Development, filmmaker Robert Connolly and journalist Tony Maniaty, Warco is a videogame that examines the frontline from a new direction. In the role of war correspondent ('warco') Jesse DeMarco, the player must capture battle footage and edit together a news story, while trying to make it out alive. All footage is taken from the proof of concept playable developed in UDK - all in game, barring the final news story which would be edited together by the player from the war footage they've captured.

This looks like shit...

Well, it is not about the looks.
It is about making it alive through action and getting the footage back.
It is an interesting concept, but I am not interested in this type of games I like the action rather than taping the action.
I wonder if you can effect the outcome of the battle - for example, hit their commander in the head with your camera, or, sneak into enemy territory and record footage about the enemy's capabilities/plans, which you can give to your homies when you get back... That would make it a spy-game, which would be a lot more interesting for me...

Csimbi> Well, it is not about the looks.
How can you expect anyone to take this game seriously when the visuals are that bad? You're supposed to be immersed into a realistic situation, not clay models with robotic animation from 1999...

I care little about graphics as long as it is not bad or slow.
I play a lot of old games actually, where the graphics is 1993-1999 (probably terrible on your scale), but those games are actually tons of fun - unlike a lot of new games.
If a studio delivers a new game today that's actually fun, graphics is of little concern to me; I'll take it.
Unfortunately most studios today are focused on graphics for some reason and they fail to delivery on the fun part.
