great review.. vietcong has superb audio which has alot of impact on the action. cant say i have ever played a game where i felt like i was actually there. be prepared sonny, you will reach climax before your heart races you down the jungle!

good game but there are like 10-20 servers. I have the game and I never been more disappointed in how little servers there are. Another thing. There are no driveable vehicles, no heavy guns at all, like turrets. The game has nice graphics but doesn't introduce anything new. It's just another shooter with decent graphics.

A pleasure to read your reviews hx! I just picked up two games for $29.99 each (R63 : Raven Shield and C&C Generals) at my local Futureshop! So I'll have to put off this interesting title.

This game was a lot of fun. At first I thought it was going to suck though. I tried that single mission in the jungle and damn, I didn't seem like I could hit (kill) anyone from and great distance. But after playing around, and playing the other missions it was great. To bad the server seletion is limited right now for MP. Maybe it'll pick up some...

do any games get a review score other than between 70-85%??? VC is a great game... the jungle atmosphere is AWESOME. But forget running it on a Pentium III at all... for this you need a P4 w/ good graphics card - nothing less.

This game really suck!! Vietcong should be the hero guy in this game i dont know why they made this game !! in the real war The AMERIKAN lost the battle every fucking soldier sent to the battle in Vietnam get kill by the Vietcong.. The amerikan soldier the actually loser,, The Amerikan what can they do just bomb in real battle they probaly get kill by Vietcong,,this game suck the same with delta hawk ..

I agree with u This game is really suck!! beside have u guy seen or play a game that the Amerikan guy is the bad guy got his head ripp of by a AK47.. NO that never happen because the developer is from Some Amerika lover contry,, i am just a 8 years old kid but this game make a bad picture for new generation..

Hey n00b 8yr... it's great that you can use the internet and all, but don't post comments unless you actually BOUGHT THE GAME... playing the demo doesn't count. Also to the anti-american-kn0b, why don't you go read up on the Vietnam war before commenting on it... More VC were killed than US Soliders. Technicially the US didn't lose; they made a treaty and withdrew. The US didn't win clearly because of political intervention and a number of other reasons. Geez... everyone wants to post their opinion no matter how stupid & uneducated it is.

Erm that's the idea of games (crap name)Amerikan soldier suc. But if you would put your console down and buy "Operation Flashpoint GOTY", you would find that you can play 3 campaigns 1)for the USA 2)for the Russians *against* the USA 3)The Resistance OK Back on topic: I liked the demo -played smooth as hell 1600x1200 x2AA (surprised with my XP2000 GF4TI4600 combo) The 'depth of field' was very well implemented, the *only* problem i had was it was just damn tooo short to make an honest judgement of how the full SP game will be? I'm to wary of a 'Blackhawk Down' 8hour disappointment.

Well I played the demo Strogge but in retail I have not seen this yet. Sorry. The game is great now with my 9700, but there are still not many servers. Still this game is average, imo.

It's really good game. Sound and views are great.Unfortunately, the player could not act as VC in single player mode, that's the weakness.

Can he be a little stupid? Almost 3 million soldiers were sent to vietnam over a 10 year period. At most 60,000 soldiers were killed while over 3 million vietnamese were killed in the conflict (North and South). The South were fighting for their freedom when the North were fighting for communism supported by the Chinese and USSR.

Actually, I would probably consider Vietnam a loss. While it technically was a strategic withdrawl and we still did not accomplish our goal, stopping communism. Anyways, you should comment on the play of the game and not the fact that every game you play has Americans as heros. I think there is a game where you can be a muslim freedom fighter against the Isreali army. I just don't understand why people complain so, if you don't like somthing, go make it better!

Vietcong is a great game inspired in what really happened in Nam near Cambodian border and sometimes even in Cambodia. There were SF soldiers entitled SOG (Studies and Observation Group) that assembled in groups of 6-9 men and were inserted in the jungles of cambodia to fullfill some objectives, such as recon, rescues, and destruction or guns, ammo and vehicles. During the war SOG obtained the best kill ratio ever in american military history. 100:1 reaching a high of 150:1 in 1968, this means that 100 NVA or Vietcong soldiers were killed per 1 SOG dead. Hope this enlightens some minds that criticize american army. Oh almost forgot !!! Some former members of SOG formed a group today known as Delta Force.
