G3 Studios sent us to
check the Windows version of
Video Poker Pro, a fully animated simulator of the popular casino game. For
those who never played a poker, this is a card game in which players make bets
on cards they hold or hope to hold. The two basic types of poker are "Draw" and
"Stud." In Draw Poker, each player receives five cards. Players then discard
unwanted cards and draw the same amount of new cards. Players bet before and
after the draw. There are several types of Stud Poker, most notably Five Stud
poker, where the players are dealt one card facedown and one card face up. The
players are then dealt three additional cards faceup. Bets are made after each
round of cards is dealt. Poker games can be either high poker or low poker..
Video Poker Pro allows you to select from six of the most commonly played
game styles, including "Jacks Or Better," "Deuces Wild," "Joker Wild" and even a
"Progressive Jackpot" game among others. The game also features some
voice-overs, and sound effects, but it could be definitely better done,
especially the graphics running only at 640x480. But anyway, at least some gamblers
with old PCs can play too :) If you want to gamble a bit, here is the
