HomeLAN - The Assault gameplay type is back for UT 2004. How would you describe the gameplay for the new Assault as opposed to its appearance in the original UT? Cliff Bleszinski - First and foremost you can actually figure out where you're going and what you're doing in the new Assault. There are HUD indicators that show where the next objective is along with a racing game style "3d arrow" that guides you to your next objective. When you spawn in the game a voice over says "You are attacking - hijack the prototype tank" (or whatever your current objective is...) Confusion is greatly reduced. Second, we're being pro-active with removing map specific exploits. First, shield gun jumping is limited a fair amount in Assault. Players can only impart a limited amount of momentum on their allies. Finally, in the majority of the levels, the objectives must be completed within a specified order. We've taken into account the worst case griefer behavior this time and have attempted to prevent the majority of those behaviors.
