cgonline.com has written a new preview of Underworld: Crime Does Pay, Phoenix Entertainment's upcoming adventure/strategy game.
"Phoenix Entertainment says their proprietary 3D engine is fully capable of driving both the RTS and the FPS aspects of the game, but the more important question is how well the game design integrates the two modes. Theoretically, you'll be able to play the entire game as a 3D RTS, but you'll gain a "competitive advantage" by taking over some of the combat and other actions personally in the first-person mode. You'll be able to choose from a cornucopia of criminal capers (Holy alliteration, Batman!), running the gamut from extortion to gambling to theft, though it's unclear just how unsavory Underworld will really get—is this Syndicate territory, or Kingpin turf?"
