  • Perfectly Realistic Game Graphics 10-15 Years Away, Estimates Epic's Sweeney - Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney now estimates that videogame graphics will reach the point of realism in as little as 10-15 years. In interview with Gamasutra he said: "Probably 10-15 years for that stuff, which isn't far at all. Which is scary--we'll be able to saturate our visual systems with realistic graphics at that point."
  • Wrath of the Poo Demo -  Wrath of the Poo (download demo) is an intense arcade style action game where the player, controlling a special agent from the Schnaps force elite unit, has to blast his way through a town infested by an army of mutants escaping from a secret laboratory’s bathrooms. The game takes place in different levels such as a laboratory, the town, the sewers and a wastewater treatment plant. As the player struggles through the levels he will find more and more powerful weapons and rescue his teammate, a mighty rabbit warrior from another world.
  • BattleForge is now free to download - EA's online card-trading RTS-MMO game, BattleForge, is now free to download. Previously available for $29.99, you can download the full thing for nada and get access to all content, and two full decks. To get into the trading part, you will need to level up in both PvE and PvP.
  • NecroVisioN Ships (US) - Aspyr Media announces that NecroVisioN is now available in North America, providing the chance to experience this supernatural first-person shooter set during World War I. The game is already available in Europe, and it is now in North American stores (free of DRM), and available for digital distribution via GameAgent.
  • Restaurant Empire II Ships - Paradox Interactive announces the release of Restaurant Empire II (video), Enlight's casual cook-'em-up sequel, which is now available for online purchase from GamersGate.
  • Company of Heroes Map Details - There's a New Panzerkrieg Map Feature on the Company of Heroes Website with details on the promised new map for Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor and a few screenshots offering a look at it.
  • Cities XL MMO Details - Monte Cristo has released new Cities XL Details outlining subscription fees and other details about the persistent aspects of the upcoming urban planning game. The monthly fees are in Euros: one month is 7€, three months are 5€/month, and six months are 4.5 euros/month.The game will be playable in both single player mode and massively multiplayer modes. Sounds kind of funky town.
  • Bionic Commando Rearmed 50% Off on Xbox Live Arcade - The Xbox 360 edition of GRIN's downloadable Bionic Commando Rearmed--an enhanced remake of Capcom's classic swinging platformer--is half-off for Xbox Live Gold members this week, bringing the price of the game down to 400 MS Points ($5)
  • Sony CEO Proposes 'Guardrails for the Internet' - Micheal Lynton the guy who said 'I'm a guy who doesn't see anything good having come from the Internet. Period.' has posted an editorial at the Huffington Post titled Guardrails for the Internet, in which he defends his comment, and suggests that just as the interstate system needs guardrails, so too does the information superhighway. The following is pretty indicative of the article: 'Internet users have become used to getting things when they want it and how they want it, and those of us in the entertainment business want to meet that kind of demand as efficiently and effectively as possible. But what has happened online is that if it is 'beyond store hours' and the shop is closed, a lot of people just smash the window and steal what they want. Freedom without restraint is chaos, and if we don't figure out some way to prevent online chaos, the quantity, quality and availability of the kinds of entertainment, literature, art and scholarship we need to have a healthy, vibrant culture will suffer.'

And there still will be sod all gameplay other than 'pretty' graphics.
I remember when blue ray was first mentioned -regarding PC usage- and they said PC games would be HUGE with the most realistic footage (because of the larger texture storage) and simply because of the amount of data they could cram on to a disc. Yeah like we're still using DVD and barely moved on.
The same was said of 512mb-1gig graphics cards, it's all hype and full of ulterior motives. we have the most realistic CGI on blue ray as it is -leaps ahead of the PC. Why 10-15years and not now? Didn't we say this 10-15years EARLIER

10-15 years for Epic, not the rest of the world. The way I see it.
