- Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway Impressions -
FiringSquad has posted its impressions of Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway,
the latest game in the genre: "The game uses the environment in new ways.
For example, enemies who are hiding behind sand bags are protected from
rifle and machine gun fire. However if they are hiding behind wooden fences,
its pretty much open season on shooting Nazis. Weapons fire turns those
fences into splinters in no time and they shatter realistically. "

ShackNews have posted their impressions of Gears of War PC. Demo
machines were running a smooth 60fps at 1920x1200 resolution on machines
equipped with Nvidia 8800-series cards and 2GB of RAM.
- Haze Impressions -
FiringSquad has posted its impressions of Haze, the upcoming sci-fi
first person shooter from developer Free Radical and publisher UbiSoft:
"Multiplayer promises to be pretty darn cool as Free Radical plans to have
four player online and offline co-op modes along with other multiplayer
features. Free Radical uses its own graphics engine for the game and it
looks pretty good based on our brief demo, particularly with some great
looking weapons models."

Dead Reefs playable demo - The Adventure Company has released
a demo to their mystery murder case Dead Reefs. The Demo throws you
right into action - you will have to chase suspects through the forest, free
yourself from deadly traps and outfox some of the bad guys.
- Lost Planet PC gets free content -
Capcom has announced plans to update the PC version of their sci-fi
action game
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition on July 20. The update will include four
multiplayer maps that were released as downloads for the Xbox 360 version of
the game in two separate map packs. The PC changes also include a 'Resident
Evil 4-style' view mode and a new 'Wide' view, a 'movie mode' for watching
the game's cut-scenes back to back, multiplayer updates to allow you to see
connected players, 'PC Map Pack 1' and new characters, presumably for
multiplayer - Jo from Lost Planet itself, Mega Man, and Dead Rising's Frank
West.
- Mark Rein clears up PS3 questions -
Here's some clarifications about Windows LIVE and cross platform play we
found informative: "UT3 does not use Games for Windows LIVE. We have not
decided about cross platform play between PC and PS3. We're not 100% sure
that users want that feature but if we get time we'll play around with it
and see how it works. In the mean time we plan to be able to serve the PS3
from PC servers so that should help us gets lots of great servers going."
- Guild Wars: Eye Of The North Pre-Order Offers -
Players who pre-order Guild Wars: Eye of the North will gain access to
the Sneak Peek Weekend, August 24–26, 2007, where they will be able to log
into the game for a first look at Eye of the North. Players will be able to
explore the Far Shiverpeaks region of the world, home of the barbaric Norn.
Everything players obtain during the Sneak Peek Weekend, including items,
XP, Heroes, and loot, will be permanent and available when the expansion
goes live.

- Madden Ring of a Champion Introduced - Electronic Arts and
Jostens announced that the highly anticipated
Madden NFL 08
for next generation consoles will give players the opportunity to extend the
Madden NFL 08 experience to the real world by
giving them the ability to purchase their own custom-designed 'Ring of a
Champion.' Based on the player's Madden Gamer Level, the Ring of a
Champion showcases the progress of a Madden NFL 08 gamer, and each ring can
be customized to recognize the player advancements through the game. These
rings are a direct representation of a player's achievements and game
skills. Madden NFL 08 will be available for purchase beginning August 14.

Sony has given the PSP-2000 a Japanese release date of Sept. 20. The
handheld will release for Y19,800 ($162) in six colors (black, white, silver
and three pastels).
