  • GameStop seeks USD 950 million to close EB merger - GameStop has announced the sale of USD 950 million in notes to investors, which the company will repay in six or seven years, with interest, in a move aimed at financing the firm's forthcoming merger with Electronics Boutique.
  • id Software Lawsuit - According to a subscription-only story on the Wall Street Journal website, id software co-founder Adrian Carmack has filed a lawsuit against the Mesquite, Texas based developer following his dismissal from the company earlier this year. (thanks BluesNews).
  • Microsoft Windows Officially Broken - Windows was broken and Microsoft has admitted it. In an unprecedented attempt to explain its Longhorn problems and how it abandoned its traditional way of working, the normally secretive software giant has given unparalleled access to The Wall Street Journal, even revealing how Vice President Jim Allchin, personally broke the bad news to Bill Gates.
  • PSP Firmware Downgrader Released - SonyxTeam has just released a downgrader for the PSP using the toc2rta 2.0 overflow in libtiff.
  • Office 2003 Service Pack 2 - Today, Microsoft has officially released Service Pack 2 for their Office 2003 productivity suite. Included are significant security enhancements, in addition to stability and performance improvements.
  • World's Lightest Tablet PC Lifebook P1510 by Fujitsu Siemens - Apparently the Lifebook P1510 is the world's lightest convertible at 1kg with a 8.9 inch display. The Fujitsu Siemens Tablet PC features the Intel Centrino Mobile chip-set, Pentium M at 1.2Ghz and runs Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005. The P1510 also has Bluetooth and a Fingerprint sensor for secure access.
  • The memory card video recorder - This is a small cool product that connects to your TV and that copies everything it "sees" onto a SD, MS or CF... all in MP4 format and in different sizes for different devices (including the PSP): MPEG-4/320x240/30fps, MPEG-4/368x208/30fps, MPEG-4/640x480/30fps.

  • Diplomacy Goes Gold - Paradox Interactive sent over a press release announcing that Diplomacy, the PC game version of the classic board game from Hasbro, has gone gold and will ship to stores in the US on Oct. 4.

  • Gothic II: Night of Raven add-on finally gets North American distribution - After countless delays, fansite JoWood News is reporting Navarre will be releasing Gothic 2 Gold, which presumably includes the long-awaited Night of the Raven expansion, in the US with an expected date of October 24th, at US$19.99
  • Turok is Unreal - Buena Vista Games and Epic Games announced today an agreement to license Unreal Engine 3 for multiple next-generation BVG projects. The first game under the agreement is based on the popular 'Turok' franchise, and will be developed by BVG's new Propaganda Games studio in Vancouver, British Columbia.
  • Neverend slips back to Feb 2006 - Neverend, Mayhem's fantasy RPG has been pushed until February 2006. The new date has been announced following a re-planned distribution schedule.
  • The Shadow of Aten announced - The Shadow of Aten is a 3D Action/Adventure multiplatform game in which the player assume the role of a new hero, Allan Scott. He is an attractive and enigmatic adventurer who will go deep into the fascinating and mysterious world of Ancient Egypt. The game is slated for release in Q4/2007.
  • WinSPMBT (Windows Steel Panthers Main Battle Tank) patch v2.0 - The patch does not simply addresses a few bugs, version 2.0 is also an upgrade to WinSPMBT and provides a number of new enhancements to the title. Additionally, a new campaign by Mike Torrance is featured in the upgrade, and nearly three dozen scenarios that were created by Ulf Lundström and Bill Wilder after the games release have been integrated into the games scenario list for convenience, bringing the total number of scenarios in the game to 144.
  • GMX Media needs you - GMX Media today announced that public beta tests for top 2006 titles will be opening soon. All serious PC gamers are invited and welcome to join the action and get involved in the final development stages of these games.
  • Live Forum Chat with Fahrenheit Developer David Cage - Adventure Gamers informed us they will host a Developer's Chat with Quantic Dream which coming Thursday, September 29th.   • Multiple God of War sequels in the works? - Electronic Gaming Monthly's October 2005 magazine reveals some interesting tid bits about the future of the ambitious God of War franchise. A small bit tucked into the rumors corner basically says that the sequal for God of War will be on PS2. It also indicates God of War 3 will get the full next-gen treatment on the PS3. According to their sources we should see God of War 2 sometime in 2006. At this point David Jaffe has not announced if he will be working on either of the sequals.
  • Mobile Halo Coming - Microsoft has struck a three-year licensing deal giving French mobile games maker In-Fusio rights to its blockbuster "Halo" video game franchise, In-Fusio said on Tuesday
  • Prince Of Persia PSP Game Coming - UbiSoft announced plans to release a PSP version of their Prince of Persia action-adventure franchise. The game, which is being developed by Pipeworks, is scheduled to be released in December .
  • Perfect Dark Zero Loses Features to Make Xbox 360 Launch - Rare has revealed that some of the features originally planned for the Xbox 360 shooter have had to be removed or downgraded. An article in the November issue of Edge magazine has revealed that the fifty-player online multiplayer mode promised for Perfect Dark Zero has been scaled down to only 32. While still impressive, the news is a little disappointing. Rare has also had to remove the DataDyne TV mode which would have allowed players to watch games and upload your best matches.
