- Did Microsoft Pay $50 Million For GTA IV Exclusive Episodes? -
There will be two distinct episodic content packages related to Grand
Theft Auto,
each costing Microsoft $25 million, according to comments made during
the conference. The $50 million may help Take-Two alleviate its recent
financial woes. Grand Theft Auto IV ships to retailers on October 16 as both
a regular and special edition. However,
Microsoft is not mentioned in this transcript and a quick look at Take
Two's SEC filing of their quarterly financial statement also doesn't mention
Microsoft on this issue. While it is likely that Microsoft did offer this
money I feel that I should take caution with definately saying it came from
Microsoft. So far neither company has confirmed that the deferred revenue
has come from Microsoft.

the upcoming PC game SimCity Societies. It will be headed up by Nancy Smith.
