505 Games today announced the reimagining of a classic with Top Gun: Hard Lock. Based on Paramount Picturesâ€™ classic film, Top Gun: Hard Lock is set in the present day with a brand new story line and new wave of elite naval aviators fresh out of the Top Gun academy. In Top Gun: Hard Lock gamers fly right back into the danger zone, for a jet propelled flight combat adventure with all the flair of a modern day action blockbuster. The game is being developed by Headstrong, a division of Kuju, set for release in spring 2012 for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, PlayStation3 computer entertainment system, and PC.

The video is a bit choppy, and does not give much details about the gameplay, neither. I wonder what the hardware specs will be.
I have been waiting for a good flight-sim for a long long time now - a sim with good, enjoyable action and storyline and fairly easy controls without the focus being on "save often and load often because you will certainly die often".
Note how my emphasis is not on photo-realism and graphics.
Let's hope they get this game right.

Man I remember those vector graphics on flight sims like F-15 strike eagle II or F-29 retaliator. How the fuck have games progressed so far? And we are still complaining about everything lol! Well FUCK YOU consoles! :lol:

If you can't towel snap other dudes in the ass as they come out of the shower it's no Top Gun game in my opinion.
