Codemasters sent out a press release annoucing TOCA Race Driver 2, the upcoming next game in their Xbox-PC racing sim series. TOCA Race Driver 2 will be released in spring 2004. Here is a bit from the press release:

I hope this is better than race driver 1. I usually pre- order but because of the first race driver, I'm holding back and I imagine 1000's of others are too.

Im defenetly gonna pre-orded this one. :) Race driver 1 wasnt all that realistic and all but it was sure fun to play on lan. The damage was also a bit exaggerated. But i think that codemaster has learned from its mistakes. ;) I mean they definetly learned about their mistakes in cmr3 and they fixed their mistakes in cmr4. :)

TOCA Race Driver was crap! They went on and on about "realistic damage as modeled by the automobile industry crash test" Yeah right!! Like run into the rear of a car and your windscreen blew out, *but* the car in front had a small damaged bumper...... We all know that TOCA cars use plastic body parts for easy replacement, so if this was 'real' then the back of that car should be at the rear seats and mine would be spewing steam and oil and going NO WHERE!!!!

codemasters are a bunch of idiots to begin with. They are the same company that killed their own game called Project IGI 2. Killed it with stupid things like falling from 3 feet kills you. How they stay in business is beyond me.
