- Great Invasions Goes Gold - Strategy First and Nobilis
Group announced that
Great Invasions has gone gold in North America and is due to be in
stores this March.
- Phylon Announced -
This press
release announces development of
Phylon, an upcoming MMOFPS from Rapid Reality Games. The game is due for
release on April 6, 2007, with closed beta testing launching today via IGN
and FilePlanet.
- The Battle for Middle-earth Anthology Announced - EA announces
plans for The Battle for
Middle-earth Anthology, a bundle that will include the original Lord of
the Rings RTS game, its sequel, and the Rise of the Witch-king expansion for
the sequel, all in one package.
- CryENGINE2 MMVW Revealed -
Avatar Reality announced that they will become the first company to
license Crytek's new game middleware, CryENGINE 2, for use in creating their
recently announced massively multiplayer virtual world (MMVW). Set in
Terraformed Mars, Avatar Reality’s MMVW will allow players to live their
fantasy lives by creating personalized characters, or avatars, in a
beautiful environment.
- X Motor Racing BETA demo -
The demo
includes one track (highway and cross-country) and one car with some physics
profiles.
- Test Drive Unlimited Unlimited - The Atari Forums have another
update
on issues with the downloadable edition of Test Drive Unlimited
mentioned earlier.
- WoW Continues to Wow - After setting a record for one month's
sales in its first 24 hours of availability by selling nearly 2.4 million
copies, the add-on finished
the month with about 3.5 million units sold, setting the bar for record
one-month PC game sales pretty darned high.
Blizzard Entertainment
also announced plans to hold its third Worldwide Invitational in Seoul,
South Korea on May 19 and 20.
- LOTRO & Age of Conan Beta Key Give Away - OnlineWelten.com
is giving away 20.000 Lord of the Rings Online Beta Keys for the EU Beta
(german). They are also giving away
20 Age of Conan Beta Keys.
- Windows Vista Live Pricing Structure -
Just like with the Xbox 360 there will be a free Silver package as well
as a Gold package which retails for $49.99 for a year subscription, $7.99
for one month, and $19.99 for three months. Anyone with an Xbox 360 Gold
subscription will be able to use their account for Windows Vista Live for
free.
- LittleBigPlanet Preview (PS3) - During Sony's Game Developers
Conference delivered by SCE Worldwide Studios head Phil Harrison,
independent developer Media Molecule showed off its upcoming PlayStation 3
downloadable title LittleBigPlanet (no relation to Adeline's Little Big
Adventure franchise). Growing from the small team that developed last year's
Rag Doll Kung Fu, Media Molecule is crafting a user-driven, YouTube-like
physics-based toybox.

- Star Wars Force Unleashed Preview (consoles) - IGN Down Under has
an extensive
preview of
Star Wars: Force Unleashed which includes some actual in-game
