Act of War: High Treason
  • Tycoon City: New York developer diary #1 - GameSpot has the first entry in their Tycoon City: New York dev diary penned by Designer Luigi Fusco.
  • Act of War: High Treason movie - 3DGamers has the first movie trailer for Act of War: High Treason, an upcomig modern 3D real-time strategy expansion pack in production at Eugen Systems. This trailer comes in medium and very high resolutions, illustrating the game's setting in a bit over two minutes of cinematic and in-game footage (along with hinting at an alternate subtitle: Manhattan Treason).
  • WarRock trailer - FileFront has the first trailer for WarRock, an online first-person shooter.
  • Living World Racing Demo (English)  - A playable English demo allowing you to check out Living World Racing. You can play as nice or as nasty as you like, blasting your competitors in a frenzy of carrot missiles or laying explosive traps with pumpkin bombs. There is a huge amount of gameplay in both single-player and multi-player modes, with practice races in both day and night modes, a time trial mode, various difficulty settings, weather conditions and the 3 championship cups to win for each difficulty setting.
  • Ice Puzzle Deluxe (v. 2.0) Demo - Ice Puzzle is a new game in which you drag rows and columns of sparkling gems in order to create groups of three or more of the same precious stone. As you create matches, you thaw out dolphins, polar bears and other animals encased in ice.
  •  Settlers - Heritage of Kings patch v1.06 - The update adds a cool down perio to the Alarm and Overtime buttons, while also fixing some map editor bugs.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis: The Aftermath v1.1 US Patch - The patch fixes a bug found in the game tutorial, which may cause some user problems.
  • CS: Source Update - As promised, a new Counter-Strike: Source update is now available. The update adds G.I.G.N and Guerilla player models, and also fixes some game bugs.
  • Gothic 3 Release Date - A Gothic-fan from the Jowood forums has faxed the Jowood's sales-informationcenter about the releasedate of Gothic 3 and got a reply saying that it will probably come Q1 or Q2 2006. (thanks RPGDot)
  • Ritual to Show Next-Gen Game Engine at GDC 2006 - Ritual will showcase its next generation game engine at the Game Developers Conference 2006 in a talk called Next-Gen Visual Effects on Direct3D 10. The first game to utilize the engine will be a Windows Vista game being developed internally by the Tribe.
  • SW Battlefront II Xbox bonus content - Just in time for holiday play, LucasArts is giving away a new downloadable level for the Xbox version of Star Wars Battlefront II. Available this week through Xbox Live, the newly added Assault mode on Kashyyyk adds another location for the Hero Free-for-All, a mode previously seen only when you selected Assault at Mos Eisley. This January, an even bigger download will be made available for Battlefront II fans via Xbox Live.
  • Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Xbox Map Pack - Electronic Arts has announced that it will release a new map pack for the Xbox version of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat on Thursday via Xbox Live. The download will have three new maps, along with four new vehicles (including attack nowmobiles) and new skins for characters.
  • Xbox 360 to Be Able to IM Mobile Phones - Microsoft has revealed it is working on a new feature that will allow Xbox 360 users to send instant messages via the MSN Messenger service
  • 360 games hacked - first mod-chip 'within weeks' - Sponge.com reports that the first mod-chips for the 360 will be available within a month. Speaking to us under terms of anonymity, one source close to the research and development of some well known current-generation chips said, "We've been seeing partial success from some corners [in China] though nothing that could go on sale yet." This paints a dark picture of the console industry and the aggressive blight it suffers. "Everyone is working on a full-functioning 'do everything' chip that will take apart the 360 and let users do what they will, though we expect a first-generation bypass device that will allow back-ups within weeks. The first on the market is likely to be complex and might not be particularly good, though that's just a stopgap before real chips become available."

@xbox 360 news! Excellent. Once the pirate chip is in circulation, then I'll buy and xbox360.. Then I can rent games, burn em, and save tonnes! Woo! thank you Pirate Boys!! I just wish they'd rent PC games here, save me from downloading them online..
