- Crytek boss Cevat Yerli On Crysis Warhead/Crysis Performance -
The German PC Games website has
a tidbit from an interview with Crytek boss Cevat Yerli that will appear
in an upcoming issue of their print counterpart. The story is in German, but
a translation tells us Yerli is offering reassurances to gamers that Crysis
Warhead should be able to achieve frame rates of 30-35 FPS in "high" detail
mode on a PC that costs around 400 Euros (approximately $620) (thanks

A new patch for
Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword is now available, bringing the second
expansion to the strategy sequel developed by Firaxis Games to version 1.17.

- Mass Effect DRM Issues? - The Mass Effect Community Forums have
word on
issues with the SecuROM copy protection in the PC edition of Mass Effect.
Users have run into issues with the software allowing only three
activations, and some users have expressed concern over how the software
seems to want to "phone home" via the internet, though reports in this area
are a bit vague
- Virtual Currency Threatens Chinese Economy - Scattered reports
indicate that
an online currency, known as the QQ coin, may be having an adverse
effect on the Chinese economy and official state currency. Part of
Tencent's popular instant messaging client QQ, which is said to have over
317.9 million active accounts, each QQ coin sells for roughly one yuan and
is supposed to be used to purchase virtual items for online avatars and
pets.
- Godfather Game Lawsuit - The son of author
Mario Puzo who created "The Godfather" sued Paramount Pictures on
Wednesday, saying it had failed to hand over any of the revenues from a
video game based on the book and award-winning movie. In court documents
filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on June 18, Anthony Puzo of New York
said he was claiming at least $1 million in damages for breach of contract.
