- Spore Interview -
PC.IGN talked to Maxis VP of Marketing Patrick Buechner about that, the
recent release date confusion, Leipzig, and many other things, including the
official word on Spore DS and its release period. They have also got a brand
spanking new video from EA showing off what Spore is looking like these
days.
- F.E.A.R.: Perseus Mandate Announced - Sierra announced
F.E.A.R. Perseus
Mandate, an all-new stand-alone expansion pack for PC and F.E.A.R.
Files, the complete stand-alone expansion pack series for Xbox 360. Both
products are scheduled to ship this fall. "F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate
offers both seasoned gamers and those who have never played the original
F.E.A.R. the ability to jump-in and experience the fright with a brand new
team in an all-new experience that presents a different perspective of the
events that occur at Armacham. The campaign reveals a parallel story
allowing players to take the role of a different F.E.A.R. soldier and battle
new enemies that the original team never saw coming."

This blog reports about a major performance hit in F.E.A.R. that they've
traced back to the use of USB peripherals (Logitech).
- Battlestar Galactica, Switchball, Commanders: Attack! Confirmed
(PC/Xbox 360) -
Sierra Online announced three new games headed for Xbox Live Arcade and
PC. Switchball, Commanders: Attack!, and Battlestar Galactica are all
heading to PC and Xbox Live by year's end.
- PC Viva Piñata Confirmed -
Microsoft confirmed Viva Piñata will also be released of Vista and XP.
No other details are offered at this time.

- Silent Hill 5 Announced (PS3/Xbox 360) -
Konami has officially announced plans to release Silent Hill 5 in 2008 (teaser),
bringing the long running survival horror game series to the PS3 and Xbox
360 consoles for the first time. The game follows Alex Shepherd, a war
veteran returning home from an overseas tour of duty to investigate the
mysterious disappearance of his younger brother, Joshua. His travels will
lead him through the small, insular community of Shepherd's Glen and
eventually through the hauntingly empty streets of Silent Hill.
- NCSoft And Unreal Tournament 3 PS3 Exclusives - PC MMO publisher
NCSoft will be developing and publishing a number of new exclusive titles
for the PS3. No specific games were announced.
Epic's Unreal Tournament 3 will come out first for consoles for the PS3
and that mods created for the PC version will be able to be played on the
PS3 version as well.
