- Dragon Age 2 Revealed - Dragon Age II,
a sequel to BioWare's fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Origins, has been
revealed today by the cover for next month's issue of Game Informer. Word
is: "Dragon Age II is a full-fledged sequel, featuring a new
hero, a different part of the world, and a ton of surprising
improvements that will shed even more light on the lore of the Dragon
Age universe." Platforms and a release date are of course
yet-unknown. However, a Dragon Age thing is due on February 1, 2011 and
EA's latest release schedule listed a "Dragon Age Title TBA" for
release on "Console, Handheld/Mobile, PC" between January 1 and March
31, 2011.
- Dead Space 2 Prequel Game Announced - Dead Space Ignition will 'reveal
the events leading up to Dead Space 2' in an 'interactive comic-style
story with three unique hacking mini games; Hardware Crack, Trace Route
and System Override.' The downloadable title will be released this fall
on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade ahead of Dead Space 2's
January 25, 2011 release date.
- Ex-Age Of Empires Devs Creating Spartan RTS For
Microsoft - Kotaku learned that Robot
Entertainment is creating Spartan on behalf of Microsoft.
Formed by ex-Ensemble Age Of Empires developers, Spartan is a PC RTS
based on Greek mythology that also incorporates crafting, perhaps
suggesting the inclusion of RPG features.
- FIFA 11 Engine Optimized For PC - Electronic
Arts has announced that the football engine that drives FIFA on the
PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 has arrived for FIFA
11 PC. The game engine has been optimized for the PC,
apparently bringing console-quality gameplay, game modes and visuals to
FIFA 11 PC. More details on features and modes will be released in the
coming weeks.
- Fort Zombie Patch Adds New Weapons, Missions And
Bug Fixes - Fort Zombie Patch Adds New
Weapons, Missions And Bug Fixes The original, horror-survival strategy
game, Fort Zombie, is on the receiving end of some much needed patch
work. The new patch fixes a number of annoying little bugs, including
the NPC path-finding and NPC engagement commands.
- Vanquish Coming in October 2010 - Sega
will release Shinji Mikami's third person shooter Vanquish for PS3 and Xbox 360 in
Japan on October 21, 2010.
- Rayman Origins Episode 1 To Be Released on Xmas - According
to this FAQ, the first episode of
Rayman Origins will be released over Xbox Live Arcade and the
PlayStation Network this Christmas, with the rest of the episodes (how
many in total hasn't been announced) naturally following in 2011.
Interestingly, although the game was only listed for the 360 and PS3
when it was revealed at E3, the FAQ also states that versions for the
Wii, 3DS, PC, and iPad are all "to be considered."
- Kojima Hideo on his next project - Kojima Hideo revealed that his
next project will be on console system, the design is almost finalized
and he hopes to do things he couldn't in MGS Peace Walker. This project
also caused the development of the next Zone of the Enders project
being pushed back.
- Sega to Miss Gamescom 2010 - Sega
announced that they will not participate in the uipcoming GamesCom from
August 18 - 22 in Cologne, for economic reasons.
- Lord of Arcana PSP Details - Square
Enix revealed that its PSP action RPG Lord of Arcana will have
encounter battles, you engage into battles by touching the monsters in
the field. While you are in a battle, other players can join in to
fight, and you can also flee from the battle. Lord of Arcana is
scheduled for an October 14 release in Japan. The game will be both
available on UMD and digital distribution via PlayStation Network on
the day of release. No word yet on the North America and European
release date.
