    Guild Wars Nightfall Impressions - The story missions will each take between 40 minutes and a couple of hours to complete in theory and will pose a challenge to both beginners and veterans of the game. The level cap won't be increased, so if you're already sporting a level-20 avatar, you'll be pleased to know there will still be plenty to keep you occupied.
  • The Witcher Preview - GameSpot has been updated with a new The Witcher preview, offering impressions of the demonstration at last week's GC: "The first mixture that we saw was a night-vision potion, which turned the entire screen black and white but highlighted living things in color--more like thermal vision. The second was alcohol, which blurred the screen and did a disturbingly good job of making us feel like we had double vision for a time. Alcohol will adversely affect your abilities in combat, but after drinking it you'll find that your improved social skills let you get more information from characters that you're talking to in a bar, for example."
  • Dark Messiah Beta Live - GameSpot announced that their paid subscribers now have the chance to join the (closed) open beta for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. The first 5,000 subscribers who register will get a code to activate the beta via Steam. There is no word on when the beta will open up to more people.
  • Steam, CS: Source, Source TV updates - A new update was just released for the Steam client. This update includes a handful of additions to the game browser, and fixes to the friends network. There's also new update is for CS: Source and SourceTV.
  • PHL High-Definition Pack for Steam - Alexander "your evil twin" Van Wingerden-Cross has put together a "fixed" version of the Half-Life High Definition Pack for Steam, which upgrades the graphics of the characters and weapons in Half-Life and its expansions Opposing Force and Blue Shift. This fixed version is also compatible with most Half-Life mods, and it has a better-looking G-Man as well!
  • Free Auto Assault Update -  NCsoft announced the release of a free update to Auto Assault in both North America and Europe. Both current and new players stand to benefit with many new missions, cooler loot, enhanced tournament play and system-level changes designed to make post apocalyptic destruction even more fun.
  • Neverwinter Nights patches v1.68 - New patches for Neverwinter Nights are now available, updating the original game and expansion packs to v1.68. This new patch has a number of enhancements and bug fixes including the addition of visable cloaks.
  • Ballistic Weapons Map Pack 1 UT2k4 - As promised, RuneStorm has released it. There are several neat looking maps that fit the theme of their mods in this map pack, so why not grab it?
  • Sword of The Stars Patch - The first patch for Sword of The Stars, the recent space strategy game from developer Kerberos Productions, has been released.
  • Battlefield 2142 Demo Plans - Battlefield 2142 coming to EA Downloader Battlefield 2142 will be available to pre-order on EA Downloader in September with a unique incentive - a 24-hour exclusive pass to play the demo before its public release. There is no specific word yet on when the demo will be released.
  • Warhammer 40,000 Dawn Of War Dark Crusade Demo Coming  - IGN has a preview of Warhammer 40,000 Dawn Of War Dark Crusade revealing that a stand alone demo for the upcoming Relic's expansion pack will be released on Friday through FilePlanet and will contain a tutorial and two missions from the game.

    Microsoft Releases XNA Game Studio Express Beta - Microsoft has announced that the public beta of XNA Game Studio Express, its free XNA-based development environment for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Xbox 360, has been released for free download. The software is derived from Visual C# Express 2005, and is tailored specifically towards cross-platform game development. The game "Spacewar" is included as an example for game creators.
  • Feel Unreal 4 Trailer - Callisto has continued his dedication to Unreal-based Machinima by creating the forth of his Feel Unreal videos. A trailer is now available for this fourth edition (a full release is forthcoming) which stars the voice of UnrealGrrl.
  • Sim City coming to DS - Sim City DS is based on the PC Sim City 3000. This isn't just a port, though, as the game features full stylus-based controls, mini games and a new adviser character who helps you out when designing your city. The DS title includes three main modes of play: Build a New City, Save the City and Sister City. In Build a New City, you start a city from scratch. Save the City mode puts you in a city located somewhere in Japan and has you clear missions involving fixing traffic and other problems. The Sisters City mode lets you chat with other players and trade "landmarks."
  • Blizzard: Consoles Can't Handle WOW, PC Gaming Better, Xbox Live Will Win - Roughly six million addicts (cough..)... subscribers and Chinese Coke ads should be reason enough to bring World of Warcraft to the consoles. Yet, the game's developer, Blizzard, remains hesitant. In short: Sams thinks console gaming isn't where it's at. And who's to say he's wrong? Blizzard has been incredibly successful by sticking with the PC, a platform that ultimate gives the company more freedom, control and, well, money. But, what does he think about console gaming's online service?

If Crysis was for DX10 I would understand it... but... nah - they are just cranky.
Same goes for WoW, they are rather more afraid to loose the "HARDCORE!1111"-status of their game frenschie if they also sported it for the consoles.

As for hardware requirments; My God of War, I could play WoW on my freakin stationary work computer which has a integrated GPU and a CPU made for breaking at 12 tabs in Opera.
And for keyboards and alike; It's no secret that the next gen consoles have support for it - even the Ps2 had keyboard and mouse support!
