For those of you who don't know, Fabrice Cambounet has announced the Heroes of Might and Magic 5 beta test on the official forums. The closed beta will begin mid-September and will last approximately 2 months. As usual I'm not going to be participating in the beta (time constraints), but if you guys are at all into HoMM, you should definitely check it out.

Gamestop Also Offering Xbox 360 Pre-Orders - Yesterday EBGames announced their Xbox 360 bundles for pre-order. GameStop announced 4 Xbox 360 bundles (thanks Zimnick), including the Xbox 360 Ultimate Bundle for $1,199.83! WTF! :) Also Amazon.de started taking pre-orders on the Microsoft Xbox 360 in Europe (399 Euros for Premium version). Personally, I'll stick to the $399 Xbox 360 and just buy/rent the games I like.
Xbox to feature HDMI High Definition standard after all? - Just last week sister blog HDBeat was questioning Microsoft's lack of HDMI output on the Xbox 360, but now it appears that the feature is there after all, the only issue being that there aren't any cables to take advantage of it.

Japan to test supersonic airliner prototype - Japan plans to test a supersonic aircraft prototype in the Australian desert as early as September. The proposed aircraft could hold 300 passengers - three times that of Concorde - and would aim to make the New York to Tokyo journey in just 6 hours. It could be in business as early as 2015.
Playboy to launch digital magazine - Playboy plans to launch a digital version of its magazine next month, allowing readers to download over the Web the same content that's in the print version. Readers will be able to subscribe to the online version starting with the October issue.
