Shack: Tell me about some of the combat mechanics Neo will have at his disposal. Are there different systems for melee and gun combat? Also, how will players learn new techniques and abilities over the course of the game? A "level up" system, or something different? BJ: Combat mechanics take center stage in PoN. Bullet time, hand-to-hand combat, combos, linkers, finishers, blocks, grapples, charge ups, multi-opponent fighting, special link-up attacks, ranged combat, 360 aerial targeting, melee weapons, a variety of traversal options, and AI buddies all play their part to distinguish themselves and offer unique play styles. Melee and ranged combat tactics occupy their own buttons and the default controller set-up separates the guns from the gloves. When you're punching and kicking you're on the face buttons. Targeting and blasting is one the shoulder buttons to drive home the feel of pulling a trigger. And of course there are lots of guns such as Pistols, Submachine Guns, and Shotguns. There are also fully-automatic long-range Rifle, Grenade Launcher (lots of fun airborne), Frag Grenades, and status effect inducing Flash Bangs, and Tear Gas. Leveling up in PoN comes in droves. Many skills such as throws, weapon strips, flight, and Code Vision are earned automatically as Neo progresses through training and completes challenges as 'Trench coat Neo' and the One. Advanced skills and mystery abilities are unlocked as the story unfolds on a special menu between levels and are acquired by player choice. There are no points, coins, or blood to collect and spend.
