Fans of classic adventure games must be pleased with the recent Kickstarter boom, what with the success of a Leisure Suit Larry remake and the launch of new projects from Jane Jensen and Space Quest's creators. Yet another classic franchise could soon see a revival, pending financial support from fans, with Tex Murphy: Project Fedora.
The Kickstarter page explains this new adventure, "will incorporate the very best of the classic Tex Murphy elements - sci-fi, film noir, witty dialogue, great characters, beautifully integrated FMV, and a deep, engaging story - but it will also enhance the experience of the former games with stunning new graphics, a sleek new interface, and other updates." Branching story paths and a fully 3D environment are also promised. Project Fedora has 31 days left (June 16th) to reach its goal of $500K, and it's already raised over $100K after only a day. Not too shabby, Tex.
