You can also add or remove AI players to your game if you don't have enough players. The game also has a refreshable server list so you can locate any available games which makes it easy to create or join a game.
But hey, you don't even need an internet connection or a home network to play a multiplayer game since you can play on a single machine with a couple joysticks.
