  • A Proof-of-Concept Virus for iPods Running Linux - The virus, which has been named Podloso, is a proof of concept program which does not pose a real threat. The virus is a file which can be launched and run on an iPod, the company said in a statement, published on its web site.
  • Microsoft Pressures Vista SP1 Site - The legal team over at Microsoft has sent a website that claims to be hosting a number of patches intended for release with Vista service pack 1 a cease and desist order. The owner of Hotfix.net has removed the download links for the patches but there is still plenty of information available on them. He claims to have gotten most of his information from Microsoft’s own Knowledge Base.
  • ASUS Website Compromised? - Viruslist.com is claiming that the ASUS website has been compromised by the recent animated cursor exploit. Although I haven’t had any issues with the site, this just serves as a reminder to make sure you patch your system if you are running Windows.
  • Google Launches Free 411 Service - Google threw a new product called Goog-411 into Google Labs today - a free telephone based information service that could replace toll 411 calls. About 2.6 billion 411 calls are made in the U.S. each year, and it is a $7 billion/year market.
