  • Microsoft adds RAW preview support to Windows 7 - After a quick codec pack download, those of you running Windows 7 or Vista should be able to preview RAW files straight from Windows Explorer, without having to use third-party tools like Adobe Bridge. Microsoft announced the release of the pack on its blog earlier today. You can download it here in 32-bit and 64-bit variants.

  • Google Makes Statement on Google+ Account Suspensions - Google has finally made a public statement on all those Google+ account suspensions. The gist of it is "we screwed up" and in the future they plan on giving you some sort of warning before shutting down your account.
  • Windows Phone 7.5 hits RTM, first 'Mango' phone unveiled - There's no set date for a launch yet but today Microsoft Japan, mobile carrier KDDI and cellphone maker Fujitsu Toshiba Mobile Communications announced what will be the world's first Mango handset: the uninspiringly named IS12T. The device, which will also be Japan's first to carry the Windows Phone operating system, will feature a 13.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, 32GB of flash storage and will be launched in September at the earliest. It will be a waterproof handset available in three different colors and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 processor.

  • 445nm burning Laser Glove Mk III (video) - On a rainy weekend last year, Patrick Priebe, a German lab technician and Iron Man fanatic who rewatches the film and its sequel every week, decided to build a compact yet powerful laser inspired by Tony Stark's repulsor-beam weapon. In the U.S., the maximum strength for consumer laser pointers is typically five milliwatts; Priebe's handheld laser is 1,000 milliwatts, enough to instantly blind anyone not wearing special safety glasses.
  • Fox to Implement 8-Day Waiting Period for Online Viewing of TV Shows - Fox Broadcasting has announced that its new episodes will no longer be available for free on the Web until eight days after they debut. According to Fox, the only way to watch recently-aired episodes before the eight days is to be a DISH Network subscriber. Other cable/satellite providers will be added to the list over time.  For those of you who use Hulu to watch new Fox episodes of shows like "Family Guy" and "Glee," you must have Hulu's paid subscription service in order to watch them before the eight-day waiting period as well.
  • Norwegian Gunman Used Modern Warfare 2 for Training - Norwegian Anders Behring Breivik apparently used Modern Warfare 2 as a training guide to prepare him for the shooting that would eventually kill 86 people at a youth camp on the island of Utoya.
  • Star Wars Blu-Ray Disc Preview @21st Century Fox Booth - Obi gave us a private screening as he commands the fleet to attack the Death Star!
  • Red Band Trailer for 'Drive' with Ryan Gosling - A Hollywood stunt driver (played by Ryan Gosling) who usually keeps to himself and moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him by a local mob boss after a heist that goes wrong. FilmDistrict will be releasing Drive in theaters everywhere on September 30th this fall.
  • Haywire Official Trailer - The cast includes Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton. Relativity is releasing Haywire on January 20, 2012.
  • Second Full Trailer for Warner Bros' Happy Feet Two - Mumble, The Master of Tap, has a problem because his son Erik is choreo-phobic. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and meets The Mighty Sven, a penguin who can fly! But the world is shaken by powerful forces. Warner Bros is releasing Happy Feet Two in theaters in 3D on November 18th in the fall
  • First Teaser Trailer for Chris Nolan's 'The Dark Knight Rises'! - The Dark Knight Rises finishes the Batman saga begun by Christopher Nolan in 2005 with Batman Begins. The Dark Knight Rises is once again directed by Oscar nominated British filmmaker Christopher Nolan, of Following, Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and Inception previously. The script was co-written by Christopher & Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige, The Dark Knight), from a story by Chris Nolan & David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight). Warner Bros is bringing The Dark Knight Rises to regular and IMAX theaters everywhere on July 20th, 2012 next summer.
