  • Hands On With The New $1200 Sony Walkman - Sony's iconic Walkman brand is back. The new Walkman ZX2 is designed exclusively with high-end audiophiles in mind - with a price tag to match. As Sony puts it, this is "the fruit of continuous refinement in high audio quality technologies."
  • Apple Selling Unlocked iPhone 6 and 6 Plus on Web Site - Apple has made unlocked versions of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus available on its web site. Customers can now choose to buy their iPhone without a carrier commitment. The unlocked models support GSM-based networks such as those operated by AT&T and T-Mobile. They can also be used on networks in other countries. The unlocked models cost the same as standard models. The 16GB unlocked iPhone 6 costs $649 and the 16GB unlocked iPhone 6 Plus costs $749. Consumers can opt for higher capacity models if they so wish. The unlocked models are sold without SIM cards.
  • Hackers Release Tool to Exploit iCloud Accounts - A hacker has released a tool that he says can break into any iCloud account. The tool, iDict, uses an exploit in Apple's security to bypass restrictions that stop most hackers from gaining access to accounts. On iDict's GitHub page, user "Pr0x13" says the exploit used to create the hacking tool is "painfully obvious" and that it "was only a matter of time" before hackers used it to break into iCloud accounts. The tool is described as a "100% working iCloud Apple ID dictionary attack that bypasses account lockout restrictions and secondary authentication on any account." There's no confirmation that iDict is indeed a working exploit, but users on Twitter and Reddit are claiming to have tested the tool and found it to work as described.
  • The FBI Is Hiring Hackers - The FBI is looking for some really good hackers to join their ranks. Of course you'll have to pass a background check, a fitness test and be over 23 years old, which would rule out most of the best hackers out there. The FBI needs to tear out a page from the new Armed Forces playbook and hire who can get the job done regardless of their physical condition.
  • FBI director claims "sloppy" North Korean hackers revealed their - The US government has taken a lot of heat for publically blaming North Korea for the hack on Sony Pictures last November. Up to this point, however, they haven't provided many details as to what led them to that conclusion - until now. According to FBI director James Comey, the Sony hackers slipped up on more than one occasion by failing to use proxy servers to mask the origin of their attack. This move revealed IP addresses that the FBI claims were used exclusively by North Korea.
  • Google Asked To Remove 345M Pirate Links In 2014 - Copyright holders asked Google to remove more than 345,000,000 allegedly infringing links from its search engine in 2014. The staggering number is an increase of 75% compared to the year before
  • If The Internet Becomes A Public Utility, You'll Pay More Taxes - The Federal Communications Commission is in the middle of a high-stakes decision that could raise taxes for close to 90 percent of Americans. The commission is considering whether to reclassify broadband as a telecommunications service and, in doing so, Washington would trigger new taxes and fees at the state and local level. The agency would like to make Internet service a public utility, placing broadband under Title II regulation of the Communications Act of 1934. This move would make broadband subject to New Deal-era regulation, and have significant consequences for U.S. taxpayers. Under this decision to reclassify broadband, Americans would face a host of new state and local taxes and fees that apply to public utilities. These new levies, according to the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI), would total $15 billion annually. On average, consumers would pay an additional $67 for landline broadband, and $72 for mobile broadband each year, according to PPI's calculations, with charges varying from state to state.
  • Obama Plan Would Help Many Go to Community College Free - President Obama said Thursday that he would propose a government program to make community college tuition-free for millions of students, an ambitious plan that would expand educational opportunities across the United States. The initiative, which the president plans to officially announce Friday at a Tennessee community college, aims to transform publicly financed higher education in an effort to address growing income inequality. The plan would be funded by the federal government and participating states, but White House officials declined to discuss how much it would cost or how it would be financed. It is bound to be expensive and likely a tough sell to a Republican Congress not eager to spend money, especially on a proposal from the White House.

This news also came with the announcements that a sequel to this year's Fantastic Four reboot has moved up a month to June 2, 2017 while a Dawn of the Planet of the Apes sequel will hit theatres on July 14, 2017. Ubisoft has not stated if the movie will be a retelling of an Assassin's game, a sequel or even something else entirely.

  • Rambo: Last Blood coming to Theatres - Sylvester Stallone confirmed via twitter that the fifth (and supposedly final) growth hormone-fueled Rambo film, titled Rambo: Last Blood, will be coming to theaters. The actor plans to write, direct and act in the final installment.
  • Daredevil coming to Netflix April 10th - The 13-episode season will debut on Friday, April 10th in all territories Netflix is available in. Previous reports had the series debuting in May.
  • Ant-Man Teaser Trailer  - Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures & Marvel Studios debuted the teaser trailer for Ant-Man, an upcoming American superhero film directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige. t stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip "T.I." Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Ant-Man is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2015.

I don't think there are hacker trades in the uniformed US Army. Prolly just civies or gov't contractors working for the Army where fit levels are not required. Just the same, I've always wondered if I could take my Planetside 2 skills hacking turrets over to the real world but my K/D ratio sucks and nano emitters haven't been invented yet.

If The Internet Becomes A Public Utility, You'll Pay More Taxes - The ISPs, assuming they are arms length from the Telcos, have to pay bandwidth fees and upgrade the technology. The Telcos state that a majority of their operating costs are due to maintenance and infrastructure upgrade. These costs, and arguably are mitigated by government assistance to the Telcos for these upgrades, are passed down to the end user. If the internet, and mostly infrastructure costs, are a Telecommunications Service, then the public should ows the infrastructure, and the operating costs would reduced becuase of government capital injections. Might pay more taxes but then the service costs and bandwidth caps should then be reduced or eliminated. Or open the door for more profiteering. I think its not a bad concept but as usual the public will get nickle and dimed.
