Seagate unveils a 10TB hard drive designed for consumers -
If you want an enormous drive that can hold an absolute ton of 4K videos, photos, and games, but you don't want to pay well over a thousand dollars, then you'll need a traditional hard disk drive. Step forward, Seagate, with the world's largest consumer hard drive: the 10TB Barracuda Pro. The $534.99 BarraCuda Pro is one of three new 10TB hard drives from Seagate's new Guardian series. The other two, the $469.99 IronWolf and $459.99 SkyHawk, are designed for NAS systems and video surveillance, respectively. The Pro, which is for ''everyday desktop computing and storage,'' spins at 7200 RPM, has a 220MB/s "sustained transfer rate" and comes with 256MB of cache. It also has a 300TB/year workload limit (in 24×7 operation) and a five-year warranty. There are non-Pro versions of the Barracuda available, which are presumably cheaper. These offer a slightly slower 210MB/s transfer rate, a 55TB/year workload limit, and a two-year warranty.

Gorilla Glass 5 Will Survive Drops From Up To 1.6 Meters -
Reportedly debuting with the Galaxy Note 7, the newest generation of
Gorilla Glass is expected to survive "1.6-meter
, shoulder-height drops onto hard, rough surfaces up to 80% of the time." It is probably still no match for beach sand, though.
Corning's Gorilla Glass 5 offers improved protection -
Corning on Wednesday unveiled
Gorilla Glass 5
, the latest iteration of its popular cover glass that's said to further address a common concern among consumers: breakage from drops. Citing an 11-country survey, Corning points out that more than 85 percent of smartphone owners have drop their handset at least once a year with 55 percent saying they've done so a minimum of three times over the same period of time. Indeed, cracked and shattered screens are a common occurrence in today's mobile-driven world. In the earlier days, scratches were just as much of an issue (if not more) although at this point, advancements in cover glass like those offered by Corning have largely eliminated the need for protective screen covers. Damage from drops, however, remains a pain point for the industry. In Corning's internal testing, the company said its Gorilla Glass 5 survived up to 80 percent of the time when dropped face-down from 1.6 meters (between shoulder and waist height for the average person) onto rough surfaces.
Skype to Drop Support for Older Windows Phone Versions -
Microsoft has said
its Skype service will no longer be updated for Windows Phone 7 - 8.1 and older versions of Android and iOS. The company said it wants to "focus on the platforms of the future" which means it "must end support for some devices and operating systems." Skype will continue to support Windows 10 for Mobile, Windows 7, 8, XP, and Vista, Yosemite on Mac, iOS 8, and Android 4.03. Versions of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android older than those named here will no longer be supported with updates. Skype says its service won't cease immediately on older platforms, but as the company continues to move Skype to the cloud, some features may become broken over time.
T-Mobile Gives Away Free Service in Brazil for Olympics -
T-Mobile has said
its postpaid customers will have access to free mobile data and calling in Brazil for the entire month of August in honor of the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games. T-Mobile customers will not have to take any action to enjoy free roaming in Brazil. Those who travel to Brazil will have unlimited high-seed data, unlimited calling to the U.S., and unlimited texting worldwide during their visit. T-Mobile said it is supplying the families of Olympic athletes with free T-Mobile service and a Galaxy S7 Olympic Edition handset through October. AT&T debuted its own roaming plan for Brazil earlier this summer, but it costs $50 to add to an existing service plan. About 100,000 Americans are expected to make the trip to Brazil to watch and participate in the games.

Opera to Sell Browser Business to Chinese Firms for $600M -
Opera Software
today scrapped plans to sell its entire business to a consortium of Chinese companies and will instead sell to them its consumer browser business. The original deal, valued at $1.2 billion, would have seen a handful of China-based investment firms take over all of Opera's businesses. The deal was unable to win government approval in Opera's home country of Sweden and had to be scrapped. Opera and the firms in question reworked the deal to sell off Opera's browser business for $600 million. Under the terms of the deal, the consortium will get Opera's mobile browser, including versions co-branded by mobile network operators; Opera's desktop browser, and performance and privacy apps; Opera's technology licensing business; and Opera's 29.09% ownership of a nHorizon. The Chinese investment firms will be allowed to use the Opera brand on these consumer-facing products. Opera Software will hold onto its Opera Mediaworks, Opera Apps & Games, and Opera TV businesses. Opera CEO Lars Boilesen will serve as CEO for both Opera and the divested unit until December 31, after which he will remain with Opera Software. Opera believes this new transaction will be complete by the end of the third quarter.
Japan's SoftBank to Buy UK's ARM for $32 Billion -
SoftBank today
announced
plans to buy ARM Holdings for $32 billion. SoftBank runs one of Japan's largest wireless networks and is the parent company of Sprint in the U.S., while ARM designs and licenses the Cortex-branded mobile processors often found in today's smartphones and tablets. SoftBank's board of directors has fully approved the acquisition, which will be made in all cash. ARM's board and shareholders have yet to approve the deal. SoftBank believes its existing business relationships around the world will expand ARM's ability to license its technology in new markets. SoftBank said it will help ARM to continue to innovate in order to push into new categories, such as the Internet of Things, by increasing investment in ARM's research and development. The company believes SoftBank and ARM share a common culture and long-term vision, and can together create a strong combined entity moving forward. SoftBank said it is committed to ARM's U.K. operations, where it will double the number of employees over the next five years. "ARM will be an excellent strategic fit within the SoftBank group as we invest to capture the very significant opportunities provided by the Internet of Things," said SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son. The deal is expected to close by the end of the third quarter.

Mr Vaulin should be fine. If the Amercians let a Presidential Nominee (and still could be elected President) get off the hook by lying to the American people and their Congress, mishandled classified documentation and willingly distribute it, then how could anything stick to Artem Vaulin.

Because there's money involved and rich corporations have an agenda pf their own with this.
Can Poland extradite a non-Polish individual? If so, I am pretty sure Ukrainians will give hell to Polish folks in the future so I guess Poland will have to shown the finger to US. US can't do shit around here anyway, so it seems to be the logical choice.
But, it surely makes a very interesting case!
PS. I do agree that US should fix their shit inside before they go and mess with other countries' lives. Makes them look like they're money-hungry idiots (the politicians, not the people).
