  • IBM Ships 5.2GHz Chip - IBM has just unveiled a quad-core 5.2GHz processor designed for the company's zEnterprise 196 mainframe computers.
  • NVIDIAs New GeForce 400M 3D Vision and Optimus Notebooks - Legit Reviews takes a look at NVIDIA's New GeForce 400M 3D Vision and Optimus Notebooks. Nvidia says the new 400M parts, which include the GeForce GTX 470M, GTX 460M, GT 445M, GT 435M, GT425M, GT420M, and GT415M, are up to 40% faster than the 300M-series mobile GeForces they will replace. All seven parts support Optimus. In other words, get ready for more notebooks with 120Hz displays and stereoscopic goggles!
  • Windows Phone 7 review - The chaps over at Neowin take an extensive look at a prototype Windows Phone 7 device running the Windows Phone operating system: "Windows Phone 7 is a solid product, and it's not even out yet. The developer/prototype devices are obviously not the ones that the platform will hit on its final release, but we were impressed with how quick and stable the whole thing ran even at this stage. A few areas are worrying, with the lack of Twitter, Flash, Silverlight and HTML5 video at launch, it's not clear what Microsoft's game plan is here. As a heavy user of Youtube & Twitter on Android, it seems hard to imagine life without it. There's potential that Microsoft might be intending on using the Zune hub as a way to manage video, but it's not clear yet."
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab announced - The Android powered tablet features a 1Ghz Cortex A8 processor, 512MB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage, with an expansion MicroSD card slot for up to an additional 32GB of storage. The Galaxy Tab comes with a 1.3MP front-facing camera and a 3MP rear camera with LED flash, perfect for taking images in the dark. The device also comes with a 4,000mAh battery, good for up to 7 hours of battery life. The Galaxy Tab is 3G data-ready, and has a 5Ghz dual-band 802.11n WiFi built-in card. The tablet also has a speaker on the bottom of the device, similar to the iPad, and supports Bluetooth. The Galaxy Tab has a 30-pin dock connector port on the bottom of the device, that allows HDMI, USB and other accessories for docking or adding onto the tablet, all fitted into a 7-inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 (WSVGA).
  • CNET's hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy Tab - CNET got a little hands on time with the Samsung Galaxy Tab and, surprisingly enough, the 7" Android powered device looks promising!
  • Amazon offering TV episodes for 99 cents - In an attempt to combat the 99-cent rentals that Apple now provides with their new Apple TV, Amazon.com's video-on-demand is offering TV episodes from Fox and ABC for only 99 cents. This comes at a better deal than Apple's rental, as for these episodes instead of renting, you are purchasing. The price is the same for both standard definition and high definition programming. Amazon's selection is quite large including TV hits such as Glee, Doctor Who, Lost, and Futurama, a full selection is available here.
  • Carl Bessai's Time Loop Sci-Fi Film 'Repeaters' Trailer - HitFix has an early trailer for a 'gritty, sci-fi film' called Repeaters, from director Carl Bessai, that will be premiering at the Toronto Film Festival next month. The film plays with the Groundhog Day stuck-in-a-time-loop concept, but twists it into a 'aggressive, fast-paced thriller' that addresses the morals of starting over with a clean slate every day in some of the most extreme ways...
  • Live Face Mapping Demonstration - Aphex Twin held a live facial recognition demonstration at the London Electronic Festival this weekend.
  • First Awesome Trailer for Hobo With a Shotgun! - Ain't It Cool News has just debuted the first teaser trailer for Jason Eisener's Hobo With a Shotgun, the first feature-length film from the guys behind Treevenge.
