  • PS4 Blu-Ray Will Be 3x Faster Than PS3 - Sony unveiled the PlayStation 4 at an event just over a month ago. Their plans for the next generation gaming system include incredible graphics and exclusive content. However, you will have to wait until the Holiday Season 2013 to get your hands on it. In the meantime, Sony's PlayStation 4 spot at the Game Developers Conference helped provide a better idea of what will go into the PS4. More specifically, the new system will be centered around an updated Blu-Ray drive. The new drive will be three times faster than the drive on Sony's PS3. In addition, Sony is planning to remove the 100 friend limit in the PlayStation Network. The new limit has not been announced but Sony is also changing how they will display your name in PSN. Instead of automatically displaying your real name to your friends, you will have to decide which of your friends can see your "True Name".
  • Microsoft: Surface Pro is a PC, Surface RT is a tablet - Panos Panay, the head of Microsoft's Surface division. GeekWire.com reports that Panay made a brief presentation at Microsoft's U.S. Public Sector CIO Summit today and while he didn't address topics such as sales of the Surface products, he did clarify that the Surface Pro was not made to be a tablet, even with its tablet-like case.
  • Major Bitcoin Exchange Slammed with DDoS Attack - Bitcoin transactions at one of the world's largest Bitcoin exchanges were interrupted late Thursday night by a "stronger than average" DDos attack that affected the Bitcoin rate of exchange. No word on who was behind the latest round of cyber attacks.
  • Mark Zuckerberg could owe $1 billion in taxes - The Facebook CEO is facing a giant tax bill. Analysts say Zuckerberg is expected to owe the IRS more than $1 billion in taxes for 2012. Zuckerberg's whopping tax hit stems from his move last May to increase his stake in Facebook. On the day of Facebook's Initial Public Offering, Zuckerberg exercised a stock option and purchased 60 million Facebook shares. He later sold about half those shares.
  • U.S. Cellular Accepting Galaxy S 4 Preorders April 16 - U.S. Cellular today indicated via its web site that customers can preorder the Samsung Galaxy S 4 beginning April 16. U.S Cellular did not disclose pricing, nor availability, however. Also AT&T announced that it will begin accepting preorders for the Samsung Galaxy S 4 beginning April 16. AT&T is asking $249 for the Galaxy S 4, though AT&T did not specify which storage option it is offering (the S 4 comes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB variants). AT&T also did not say when the device will be available for purchase. AT&T recommends interested customers sign up for more information on its web site. The $249 price point requires a two-year contract. T-Mobile USA recently announced that it will begin selling the Galaxy S 4 May 1 for a downpayment of $99.
  • This Massive Jellyfish Is Really an Aquatic Spy Robot - This five-and-a-half-foot robot jellyfish could be the future of Navy underwater surveillance. Seriously. Maybe. Certainly, if a team of engineers from Virginia Tech gets its way. Meet the Cyro, an autonomous robot with eight mechanical legs ringing its metal chassis, designed to mimic the unique, efficient underwater propulsion of a jellyfish.
  • Quantum interaction: 10,000 times faster than light - How fast do quantum interactions happen? Faster than light, 10,000 times faster. That's what a team of physicists led by Juan Yin at the University of Science and Technology of China in Shanghai found in an experiment involving entangled photons, or photons that remain intimately connected, even when separated by vast distances. They wanted to see what would happen if you tried assigning a speed to what Einstein called "spooky action at a distance."
  • U.S. Begins Stealth Bombing Runs Over South Korea - The American military made a rare announcement that two nuclear-capable B-2 stealth bombers ran a practice bombing sortie over South Korea on Thursday, underscoring Washington's commitment to defend its ally amid rising tensions with North Korea
  • ANALYSIS: North Korean Photo Reveals 'U.S. Mainland Strike Plan' - Today North Korea declared itself in a "state of war" with South Korea. Rockets are reportedly on standby to "mercilessly strike" the United States. Pyongyang has progressively cut off various military hotlines that connect it to the US and Seoul, threatened to close the Kaesong industrial complex staffed by workers from both Koreas, and torn up the armistice agreement that ended war between them in 1953.
  • Four reasons not to take North Korea's threats of nuclear war too seriously - North Korean state media says Kim has put nuclear missiles aimed at the US mainland, as well as Hawaii and Guam, on standby. But analysts have long said there’s no evidence the country has missiles with such range, or the ability to mount nuclear warheads on them. Last year Pyongyang showed off what it claimed were intercontinental ballistic missiles, but some arms experts who examined the parade footage think they might have been fakes.
  • North Korea's Military Might - North Korea’s leadership has been using some strong language about willing to start world war 3 and such, but can they. Their military hardware looks impressive if this was the 80's.
  • Best Cable Company Ad EVER! - There is a bit of NSFW language but don't let that stop you from watching it :-D
  • High-Speed Photography of Light Bulbs Exploding by Jon Smith - Chemist and photographer Jon Smith fills light bulbs with unusual objects like chalk dust, candies, sprinkles, or even beer caps, shoots the bulbs with a pellet gun, and captures the moment using high-speed photography.
  • Magnetic Putty Time Lapse 1080p - Magnetic putty time lapse as it absorbs a rare-earth magnet. Taken over 1.5 hours at 3fps, played back at 24fps. The magnetic putty will eventually arrange itself so that the outer surface is as evenly distributed around the magnet as possible.
