TechNews - New Virus Raids Your Bank Account - tech

  • Intel's vision for Ultrabooks: combo of touchscreens, Kinect, and Siri - Intel outlined a future for Ultrabooks ranging over a number of new features at a Consumer Electronics Show press event Monday. Concept devices included touchscreen Ultrabooks, tablet-style hybrids, voice command and gesture integration, and NFC integration to fill in credit card details to an online form by touching your card to a computer's touchpad.
  • New Acer ultrabook touted as world's thinnest - The Aspire S5 measures only 0.59inch at its thickest point. That's pretty thin. From what I've gathered, Intel's ultrabook spec allows for a maximum thickness of 0.8inch. Asus' sleek and slim Zenbook UX31 measures 0.11inch at the front and 0.71inch at the back, and the 13inch MacBook Air is a slightly skinnier 0.11-0.68inch. Acer's new baby doesn't have a razor-thin, tapered front edge like its rivals, but it is indeed thinner at its thickest point.
  • Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Hybrid Tour - Get uncompromised performance from the ThinkPad X1 Hybrid's dual operating systems. Instant Media Mode enables instant on/resume (much like a smartphone) and doubles your battery life. Its 13.3inch HD display is built strong with Corning Gorilla Glass. RapidCharge charges to 80% capacity in 30 minutes.
  • Microsoft Working on Star Wars-Like Holographic Tech - Vermeer is a novel interactive 360deg viewable display suitable for a tabletop form factor from Microsoft Research Cambridge. It provides viewpoint corrected stereoscopic 3D graphics to simultaneous users 360deg around the display, without the need for eyewear or other user instrumentation. In contrast to other systems, Vermeer allows users for the first time, to reach into and directly touch 3D objects inside a display volume. It also enables simultaneous users 360deg viewing of the 3D object. Inherently other 360deg systems restrict interactions to outside the display volume behind a protective glass or plastic dome.
  • New Virus Raids Your Bank Account - But You Won't Notice - A new virus will drain your bank account and then covers its own tracks by removing the unauthorized transactions and readjusting the balance, leaving the account holder with no way to know someone has hacked into the account.
  • 45,000 Facebook Logins And Passwords Stolen - Much has been written about the Ramnit worm and its transformation into a financial malware. And now, Seculert's research lab has discovered that Ramnit recently started targeting Facebook accounts with considerable success, stealing over 45,000 Facebook login credentials worldwide, mostly from people in the UK and France.
  • Fishing under ice (video) - Some under ice views from beautiful lake Saarijarvi in Vaala, Finland
  • smart thief caught on cam (video) - nice try LG ;-)
  • 30-Story Building Built in China in Only 360 Hours (video) - The Chinese sustainable building company, Broad Group, has yet attempted another impossible feat, building a 30-story tall hotel prototype in 360 hours, after building a 15-story building in a week earlier in 2011. Ignoring the fact that the building is pre-fab, doing anything on this scale in 15 days is a knockout. Earthquake resistant, energy efficient and built quickly; what's not to like?
  • Irina Shayk Topless In Esquire - I don't know anyone who still reads magazines anymore, but Esquire decided it might be a good idea to get supermodel superhottie Irina Shayk to pose for the cover of their latest issue
  • Jessica Jane-Clement lingerie pics never cease to amaze - Here's Jessica-Jane Clement in some awesome lingerie shots!
  • Joanna Krupa Wicked Hot! - The good and decent hot-woman adoring folks at Esquire have once again pulled off a pictorial mini-masterpiece by combining the excellence in eye-candy known as Joanna Krupa, with their sensational feature, 'Me in My Place'.

Our prediction is different. Would not be the first time Intel was wrong - but would not be the first time we were wrong.
Time will tell.

Soon it's going to be what it really is: toilet paper.

Had to happen sometime. The number is surprisingly low though.

You can be fairly safe from a trojan or virus with little effort. Ad blocking of any sort helps. LSO cookies being cleaned every session also help. Staying away from warez in general will help. Script blocking with ad blocking on porn will go long way. Keep an eye on your finances among other things that could be compromised. Remember that people can swipe your card at a local bar even or food joint. These scam practices aren't limited to online only and happen all the time in the real world.

I still see the guys that sell meat out of the back of a truck (same shit you can buy in a store) running around neighborhoods here and there. My car insurance premiums went up due to the recession/depression and false pip claims being rampant.

Even if you have been diligent in the most extreme it all falls apart when said companies use another company or are just moronic themselves. You would be surprised how most stolen information is from the actual source and not from you. Every company that I have information with has been pilfered from in the last five years. I can't do anything about it nor can you.
