- No recall needed for defective Radeons, says AMD -
AMD claims that
the issue is "under control" and that a recall request is "not needed."
- DisplayPort-capable Radeons are on the way - According to
The Inquirer,
AMD's upcoming R700 graphics processor will bring DisplayPort capability
to the market. The Inq says R700-based graphics cards will feature a DVI
output with a DVI-to-HDMI dongle, a plain old TV-Out port, and a
DisplayPort, er, port
- Sony Develops Computing Board Powered by Cell, RSX -
Sony plans to
show the Cell Computing Board at the SIGGRAPH show from August 7 to 9.
The Cell Broadband Engine chip alone is capable of outputting 230 GFLOPS,
and Sony believes that the incorporation of RSX 'realizes arithmetic
operation speeds beyond' that speed.

the lower corners of the screen while users work on spreadsheets, calendar
appointments and other documents.
