  • AMD Embedded Technology Featured in Microsoft Surface 2.0 - AMD announced its contribution to Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface, a highly interactive, multi-touch computing platform that allows multiple users to collaboratively and simultaneously interact with content and each other. The AMD Athlon II X2 embedded processor, combined with AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series graphics, provides a strong foundation for Samsung SUR40 that delivers high performance and world-class graphics along with the reliability and low power required of this unique form factor.
  • Intel: Sandy Bridge doesn't have DirectX 11, but Ivy Bridge will - Intel's new 32nm Sandy Bridge processors may feature integrated graphics, but users will have to wait until Ivy Bridge, which will be manufactured using a 22nm process, if they want DirectX 11. Current Sandy Bridge chips only support DirectX 10.1.
  • GeForce GTX 595 has two GF110 - Nvidia's dual-chip Geforce GTX 595 packs two GF110 cores. This is the chip behind Geforce GTX 580 and it is not exactly the coolest chip around. We can also deny any plans for a GF104-based dual-card from Nvidia.
    The card has a dual-slot cooler with three fans on it, at least the one from EVGA does and we can expect that the card will end up quite fast.

  • Western Digital Caviar Green 3TB Hard Drive Tested - In terms of performance there is little to fault about this drive when we consider that it is intended as a storage device. Peaks of over 120MB/s on read and write ensure that speed is there when the user needs it and a 64MB cache is in line with other high end drives. It was also great to see that power use was no more than 6w when in use and is rated at 0.8w when at sleep/standby. In addition to this, these drives are very quiet with no noticeable clicking when in use.
  • PC Motion Controller - One of the companies behind the technology of Kinect, PrimeSense, has announced plans to team up with PC maker ASUS for a similar camera controller that's designed to hook up to your PC. In a nutshell, the Xtion is a PrimeSense 3D depth camera built exclusively for PC, but with an important twist -- it connects to a pair of ASUS Wavi boxes, which wirelessly streams its data between your TV and a Windows PC over the 5GHz band.
  • ASUS 2011 Tablet Line Up - The Eee Slate EP121 is loaded with a 12.1inch multi-touch screen and an Intel Core i5 processor that packs 2.66 GHz of processing power. A break from the other Android-driven products, it ships with Microsoft's Windows 7 Home Premium OS.
  • Archos 70 Internet tablet with Android, 250GB hard drive -While other tablets are typically being limited to, maybe, 64GB or so of storage, the Archos 70 goes much bigger with its 250GB hard drive. Event hough it has that much more storage, the tablet is able to stay quite thin (0.55-inches) and light (14 ounces). Aside from the 'unique over-molded PVD stainless steel structured' design, the Archos 70 also comes with Android 2.2 Froyo compatibility, Flash 10.1, HDMI output, tethering support, 720p HD video playback, 3D animated photo frame, Appslib, WiFi, capacitive touchscreen, and a built-in webcam. The Archos 70 Internet tablet is on sale now for $350.
  • Nvidia unveils 'Project Denver': an ARM-compatible CPU for desktops and servers - Huang described the Project Denver processor as a "fully custom" ARM-compatible CPU. Although Nvidia partnered with ARM and used ARM's ISA, we get the sense that the processor microarchiteture itself may be one of Nvidia's own making, with a higher end target in terms of performance (and presumably also power consumption) than existing ARM-compatible CPUs. We have almost no additional details on this CPU at present, but we can now see quite clearly the outlines of how Nvidia intends to use its chip design prowess to compete with Intel and AMD.

The flaw was addressed in November in a fix issued on Patch Tuesday, but with malicious code now spotted in the wild, the protection center apparently wants to be sure the update wasn't overlooked.

  • Android Trojan with botnet capabilities - A new Trojan affecting Android devices has recently emerged in China. Dubbed “Geinimi” based on its first known incarnation, this Trojan can compromise a significant amount of personal data on a user's phone and send it to remote servers. The most sophisticated Android malware we've seen to date, Geinimi is also the first Android malware in the wild that displays botnet-like capabilities. Once the malware is installed on a user's phone, it has the potential to receive commands from a remote server that allow the owner of that server to control the phone.
  • Obama wants an Internet ID for all Americans - The Obama administration is planning on handing over power to the U.S. Commerce department in a new effort to increase security on the Internet. The idea is to create an "identity ecosystem" for the Internet, while the government says this is not a "National ID Card" it does appear to be very similar but restricted only to Internet activities.

  • Lasers are the future of heads up displays (video) - Although Audi teased its plans to incorporate laser-based HUDs in future models and brought a rough demo to CES (right), Pioneer had a more polished unit on hand utilizing RGB laser light source technology to project an interactive map onto the windshield along with a helpful little robot that displays traffic cameras, text messages, incoming phone calls and other programmable information. Pioneer calls it the Network Vision Heads Up Display Concept, and the key word is 'Network.'

  • Red Band Trailer for 'The Mechanic' - The Mechanic was directed by British filmmaker Simon West, of memorable blockbusters like Con Air, The General's Daughter, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and When a Stranger Calls. The screenplay was written by first-time feature writer Karl Gajdusek, whose only other writing credit is for the TV show "Dead Like Me". This is a remake of The Mechanic from 1972 starring Charles Bronson and directed by Michael Winner. The Mechanic was picked up by CBS Films and will arrive in theaters starting on January 28th early next year.

Ffs, i cant believe what i just read! This is sooo lame promoting on such an obvious attempt to end some more freedoms and internet privacy of people, that i cant emagine.... even a 9year old child will come with a better propaganda than those morons! But hey, well... this is America ladies and gentlemen - the land of freedom, american dreams and absolute morons!
You'll see, this will come to true! It will happen with no problems, with no one protesting, or even getting his head out if his ass...
