- 8 Intel Cores Faster Than 16 AMD Cores? -
Intel is
demonstrating a dual quad-core Xeon system at the Microprocessor Forum
that is supposedly faster than four quad-core Barcelona processors. Intel
scored over 4,900 pixels per seconds versus a little bit over 4,000 for
AMD's 4 sockets quad-core (Barcelona) system.
- DDR2-1000 tested: Crucial Ballistix and Super Talent -
Both kits tested today mark a departure from DDR2 speeds running CL3 and
even CL4.
- Intel Unveils World's Thinnest Laptop, Almost Skinny as a RAZR -
The machine,
which was co-designed by Intel engineers and a Portland, Oregon design
firm called Ziba Design, has a thickness of only 0.7" (18mm). That's just
enough to accommodate a single horizontal USB port, and it's about as thin
as Motorola's Razr cell phone.

Sony released
video of the new 2.5-inch display today. In it, a hand squeezes a
display that is 0.3 millimeters, or 0.01 inch, thick.

On the Money last night on CNBC, the telco Analyst said they had been given
the confirmed date of the 20th. Note that June 20th 2007 is exactly 10 years
after the release of the 20th anniversary Mac (released June 20th 1997). I
wouldn't be surprised if Apple invited the press to a special event around
June 20th to release the iPhone, and maybe a brand new iMac.
