The new drivers increase performance for a number of games running under GTX 460 and GTX 480-based cards.
  • Internet Explorer 9 Beta Released - Microsoft has released the beta for the newest version 9.0 of their ever-so-popular Internet Explorer browser. The beta has all the features that will be seen come release, but does not however have the updated version 9 UI. You can download the beta here. Version 9 has some important new things about it. For starters, there is support for HTML 5 and CSS 3, and a new JavaScript engine. IE9 also has an "Acid Test" feature that will let you test the compatibility and compliance of a website with IE9. Additionally, this new browser is programmed to use your GPU much better: IE9 uses your computer's GPU to enhance hardware scalable vector graphics (SVG), JavaScript performance, and HTML5 performance.

  • T-Mobile to Implement a Twitter Tax on Texts? - Business customers on T-Mobile USA could start incurring a surcharge per each SMS delivered beginning October 1st. A charge of ¼ cent per SMS will be charged to the company sending the text according to reports.
  • Boxee Box available for pre-order - The Boxee Box will be available in November. The device will sell for $200 through Boxee.tv or Amazon.com. Before it was a piece of hardware, Boxee was a software download that put Internet content on a TV screen. The Boxee Box, which was built by D-Link, is a media player that allows 1080p HD videos to be streamed to a TV from the Web or a local network. It can also run a browser on the TV, including Flash content.
