- 45nm, Socket AM3 Phenoms to work in current sockets? -
Fudzilla claims
that the AM3 socket will be backward-compatible with AM2+ sockets. If
true, that means users will be able to slap a Socket AM3 Phenom into a
Socket AM2+ motherboard and have the chip use DDR2 memory.
- Radeon HD 4850 and 4870 CrossfireX test -
Crossfire with two series 4800 cards definitely makes more sense than
NVIDIA's high-end SLI money wise. On the other side of the scope .. AMD
needs two GPUs to do so, two sets of cloned memory and hey .. don't rule out
the lower priced NVIDIA cards just yet either.

magnetoresistance', or in short, CPP-GMR. CPP-GMR pushes data density
above 1TB per square inch, a long-awaited threshold that promises drives
many times larger than those available today

Well, since
everything is going widescreen, at least they are going to a standard. I
never really saw any good reason for 16:10 over 16:9. Sure, for work
purposes I would rather have more vertical real estate, but since widescreen
displays have got crammed down our throats, we might as well just go 16:9
and be done with it.
