  • Gaming Performance: Core i7 vs. Core 2 Quad - Should you make a transition to 1366 pins or not? Our opinion is that, in this moment, it's not worth it. It is not good decision to invest so much money into new platform (CPU, motherboard, memory...)
  • AMD Phenom In-Depth Performance Scaling Analysis - The Phenom technology is actually a very interesting product, technology-wise that is. People who want the absolute best performance in benchmarks (and even in 24/7 gaming systems) will be drawn to the Intel side rather quickly. In despite of all the negative comments about the AMD Phenom from most of the extreme overclockers, the platform does really scale quite well, by which I mean that IF the Phenom would have better overclocking yields, it would be much more interesting for them. It's a real pity that most of these 65nm K10 variants still have that obnoxious coldbug.
  • Mid-End Motherboard Roundup - ASUS offers the maximum number of models in its product lines in combination with traditionally high activity of its distributors. Small wonder that the company takes up the most positions in our summary table. Moreover, we could have formally added another popular motherboard with AMD 780G (M3A78 PRO).   • Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 Tested - The keyboard and mouse utilize a 2.4ghz radio receiver dongle with an advertised range of up to 30 feet.   • VIA HyperionPro 4in1 Driver 5.22a - VIA HyperionPro 4in1 Driver 5.22a has been released.
  • Two Hundred PS3s Used To Hack SSL - A group of hackers, using 200 PlayStation 3 consoles, have found a way to exploit a known weakness in the MD5 algorithm to create a rogue Certification Authority which allows them to create their own SSL certificates. The research will be presented at the 25C3 conference in Germany.
  • Nokia S60 Curse of Silence bug exposed (video) - The next time you notice that your S60-running Nokia phone isn't receiving SMS or MMS for a complete day beware, your phone could be infected with a unique bug aptly named the 'curse of silence'. It's designed to infect the S60 series of Nokia phones. The bug hijacks the phone through a tweaked SMS to any S60-running Nokia phone. After which the phone slips into a sms baring mode, it simply rejects all sms or MMS coming its way.
  • 30GB Zunes failing due to software glitch - According to hundreds of reports from users worldwide, 30GB Zunes are freezing and locking up due to what appears to be a new years date bug. One poster summarized the issue on Microsoft's support forums, "At exactly 2am CDT (12am PDT), the docked Zune made the "unplugged from USB port" bong-noise and went to the boot-up screen with the 100% loading bar...and froze.  Update: easy official fix is here...just wait 24h ;)
  • New Year Delayed by Extra Second - Revellers ushering in 2009 will have to literally wait a second this New Year's Eve. The world's official timekeepers are adding a "leap second" to the final day of the year to help match clocks to the Earth's spin
  • 3.5 Minutes of Yes Man (video) - Jim Carrey's latest film Yes Man is already in theaters, and I think this is a nice step back to the Jim Carrey that we loved. In Yes Man, Carrey plays a man who is always negative until he attends a seminar where they encourage you to say YES more instead of saying No. This leads his character to take chances and do things he wouldn't before, transforming his life.
  • Underworld: Rise of the Lycans TV Spot - The latest TV Spot for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is online. The eyecandy overload of this series is not its only selling factor, and it looks like they stay true to that with this trailer. Lots of action and a good story to boot. I look forward to this.
  • Official Watchmen 3rd Full HD Trailer (2009) - Every time they show a scene from the movie I get a chill. Damn I hope this gets resolved soon!
