Happy New Year to all of you who make this website possible. I look forward to giving you more gaming and technology news in 2015, and I hope next year will be a happy and healthy one for everyone!
  • 6TB Hard Drive Round-Up - Though Hitachi chose to take a unique approach with Helium, both Seagate and WD have taken a more traditional route by packing more bits per platter and more platters into their drive enclosures, so the three drives we are looking at in this roundup are similar in their construction - with no fancy gases or anything like that. If you want the fastest 6TB drive available currently, it is the Seagate Enterprise Capacity V4, no doubt about it. The WD Red and Green drives are both so similar in specification and performance we have a hard time drawing any meaningful distinctions between them.
  • LG announces a curved, 34-inch monitor that's tailor-made for gamers - The 34-inch UltraWide desktop monitor has been designed for gamers and integrates support for AMD's FreeSync, which eliminates unsightly screen tearing that can happen when your monitor and graphics card get out of sync. And since it's got a 21:9 aspect ratio, you'll be able to see details on screen that are hidden from your multiplayer foes playing Battlefield 4 on 16:9 monitors.
  • Windows 10 Coming With A New Web Browser? - According to ZDNet, Windows 10 will ship with a new web browser codenamed "Spartan."
  • Documents Reveal Which Encryption Tools The NSA Couldn't Crack - Thanks to Edward Snowden, we're getting a new look at which programs can successfully keep out the NSA. A report in Der Spiegel has shed new light on the NSA's encryption-breaking programs, and put a spotlight on the handful of programs that are still giving them trouble.
  • Five Ways To Delete Yourself From The Internet - Can you really delete yourself from the internet? It sure seems like it'd be harder than this article makes it sound.
  • Android Lollipop 5.0.1 found to be hogging RAM, fix incoming - The 5.0.1 update to Android Lollipop seems to be consuming a lot of memory and the Android Open Source Project developers have now acknowledged the issue. It was reported recently that Google would start seeding the 5.0.1 update to Nexus users, and few manufacturers also decided to skip the initial 5.0 version of Android Lollipop and release the latest one for their devices. However, an issue which has been reported by many users may be a deal breaker and does not have any fix at the moment. Devices updated to Android 5.0.1 have been reported to consume more than a gigabyte of RAM, randomly forcing many apps to close down or crash. The problem is not limited to any device in particular and is affecting all those running on this latest version of Android. Some of the comments have indicated that the issue has existed since the developer preview and made it to the final release, taking even more memory.
  • Big Hero: The Epic Jump Game (Apple & Android) - Digital World Studio has released another multi-platform hit game: Big Hero: The Epic Jump Game, which was featured over 600 times on the Apple App Store and has been getting an overwhelming response on Google Play Store. The game comprises flat graphics and simple gameplay making it playable for every user.
  • T-Mobile Details LTE Expansion Plans - T-Mobile CEO John Legere took to the company's blog to shed some light on its plans headed into 2015. To start, the company claims it will cover 300 million POPs with LTE by the end of 2015. It currently covers 264 million. T-Mobile will deploy Wideband LTE to a total of 150 markets around the country, though it is already present in about 120 markets. The company said it will eventually provide LTE to 350 markets via its 700MHz spectrum holdings. T-Mobile only recently began to deploy LTE on 700MHz, and didn't say how long it will take to reach those 350 markets. Legere noted MetroPCS, T-Mobile's prepaid service, will continue to see uncharted growth. The small carrier has already made big gains since T-Mobile acquired it in 2013. Legere also took the opportunity to poke fun at T-Mobile's rivals and make predictions about what's to come over the course of the next 12 months. Among others, Legere believes T-Mobile will overtake Sprint to become the nation's third-largest network operators in the very near future. (He had previously predicted by the end of 2014.) Legere says fourth quarter earnings reports, expected at the end of January, will provide the necessary details to make that determination.
  • Quake on an oscilloscope - Playing E1M1 of Quake on a Huawei V-422 oscilloscope. The rendering is done a laptop and the scope shows the generated audio signal as two dimensional vector graphics.
  • Cleaning Rust With A Laser Is Intensely Satisfying - Are there any problems a laser can't fix? Yes, many. But they're less interesting problems to look at than rust.
  • Disassembling The Incredibly Intricate Rolex Submariner - The Submariner is an $8,000 watch. Why is it so expensive? The craftsmanship speaks for itself.
  • Marvel's Agent Carter - Behind-the-Scenes Trailer - Go undercover with Hayley Atwell on the set of "Marvel's Agent Carter" and tune in to the series premiere Tuesday, January 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC!
  • Everly Trailer - In this day and age the Internet makes it nearly impossible to keep anything quiet. If it's out there and someone's looking for it, if they're crafty enough, they can find it. Case in point: this trailer for Joe Lynch's Everly. What we have here, kids, is the final international trailer re-colored and hacked-up and missing a bunch of shots. If you cannot wait until the final one, which is forthcoming from Radius, then dig in. Bootleg or not, it should get you excited for this mucho badass flick!
  • Creating Nature And Special Effects In A Stop-Motion Film - Go behind the scenes in this featurette to see how the stop-motion artists at LAIKA brought the new world of The Boxtrolls to life by starting from scratch and making everything from essentially nothing. This meant reinventing things like fire, water and earth in a believable way to make the world of Cheesebridge feel as real as our own. See this and more in the making of The Boxtrolls, packing theaters 9/26/14
  • What Happens When You Fool Around With An Array Of 140 DSLRs - Normally, this incredible array of cameras is used to film a British talent show. This is probably a better use.
  • Why Bikers Should Watch Out For Roadside Debris - I really hope this guy is OK, but let his accident be a cautionary tale to all you cyclists - random crap on the side of the road will mess you up.
  • How To Uncork Cristal with a 50 Cal - Fullmag used a 50 calibur rifle to pop some bubbly. Because a sabre just isn't gonna cut it in 2014.
  • Boxing Day - Irina Shayk by Doug Inglish (LOVE Advent 2014) - check it out
  • Clip of Nicki Minaj acting in High School - Nicki Minaj was pretty the whole time! This proves that she has not had any surgery done since she looks exactly the same as she does in this video. Being 17, Onika was skinny since it was all the way back in high school where Physical Education is required
  • Nina Agdal's Cosmo Mexico Photoshoot - I have a feeling that most of you probably don't have a subscription to Cosmo Mexico, so here's Nina's latest shoot for the magazine *wink*
  • Kelly Gale 4 Victorias Secret - Kelly Gale walks the runway during the 2014 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show at Earl's Court Exhibition.
  • The best pics on the Internet #113 - All pictures are carefully handpicked!

Happy New Year All

Can't stand obnoxious ads, but I made a good donation to the new hardware fund the last time and I would again. I visit this site every day that I'm at a desktop.

Happy new year too, and thanks for the site, it's a nice addition to my daily browsing. I abhor ads but I permit them on this site, and I only do that on a handful of sites... keep up the good work.
