  • The Intel Skull Canyon NUC6i7KYK mini-PC Review - One of the more impressive aspects of the Skull Canyon NUC6i7KYK is the reappearance of Thunderbolt in a mini-PC.  Connecting the Thunderbolt ports on the two machines and allowing the PCs to talk to each other automatically creates a 10Gbps network adapter. For a setup with just two machines, it is enough to just set static IPs on the interfaces of both machines in the same subnet, and setting the network location to private so that the machines can talk to each other.
  • MSI GT80S Titan SLI Gaming Laptop First Look -  The MSI GT80S Titan SLI features an Intel Core i7-6920HQ, with four locked cores at a frequency of 2.9 GHz and a 3.8 GHz turbo clock. Although the Core i7-6920HQ is a heck of a mobile processor, some may question the choice of a locked CPU in a premium powerhouse PC. However, it all boils down to power, and the 330-watt power adapter is already exceeding its limits with the inclusion of two GTX 980 graphics modules, which eat up to 150 watts each. If the GPUs are on full blast (which is unlikely in real-world applications), this leaves roughly 30 watts to run the rest of the system, so it’s no surprise MSI paired the powerful desktop-grade GPU configuration with a locked mobile processor.
  • ZOTAC announces three new GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards - The first cards in the lineup include the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition, ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 AMP and the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme. The GeForce GTX 1080 AMP and GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme cards come with SPECTRA, a lighting system that lets you customize colors and mood lighting using the redesigned ZOTAC FireStorm utility. As far as cooling goes, the GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Edition features re-engineered dual fan IceStorm with tougher ExoArmor. The GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme on the other hand is equipped with a triple fan IceStorm thermal system with EXO Fan performance claimed to deliver up to 30% higher airflow compared to traditional fans. Also MSI has unleashed its lineup of GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards, with a total of six new cards. The cards announced by MSI include the GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G, GTX 1080 SEA HAWK, GTX 1080 ARMOR 8G OC, GTX 1080 ARMOR 8G, GTX 1080 AERO 8G OC, and the GTX 1080 AERO 8G. The GeForce GTX 1080 SEA HAWK is a result of a partnership between MSI and Corsair. The card integrates Corsair’s popular Hydro Series liquid cooler, allowing it to deliver extreme gaming performance thanks to increased clock speeds out of the box. MSI GeForce GTX 1080 ARMOR 8G OC comes in a Black & White design that has been inspired by advanced armor shielding. It includes the ARMOR 2X Thermal Design that uses patented TORX Fan technology and Advanced Airflow Control for improved cooling performance.
  • Microsoft accused of deceiving people into upgrading to Windows 10 with updated pop-up - Microsoft is in trouble yet again for its heavy-handed approach when 'encouraging' people to move to Windows 10. The GWX prompt was changed last week, introducing a small and quite easily-missed link that allows users to reschedule or cancel the upgrade. But when presented with this Window, many people missed the link and simply clicked on the corner X as usual, assuming they were canceling the installation; instead, they were consenting for the update to take place at the scheduled time.
  • Overwatch Benchmarked: Graphics & CPU Performance Tested - Making the game even more affordable are the surprisingly relaxed PC hardware requirements. Those playing at 1080p and wanting to enjoy the game on ultra-quality settings should be able to run it on just about anything within reason -- even the Radeon R7 260X cracked 60fps.
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition - Introducing the new Galaxy S7 edge Injustice Edition inspired by DC Super Hero Batman.
  • Samsung's Galaxy Note 6 might instead be called the Galaxy Note 7 - If you are waiting for Samsung to finally announce the Galaxy Note 6, you may well be surprised to find out that there might be no device under such a name in the near future. According to a source from Korea, Samsung has decided to skip the Galaxy Note 6, and instead name its upcoming Note handset as the 'Galaxy Note 7'. As for the reason for this unusual change, this was reportedly to eliminate inconsistencies when it comes to branding Samsung's products. Samsung has announced and launched the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge early this year, and such a move supposedly will help bring more parity with the company's handsets. 'When Galaxy Note 6 that has its model number lower than Galaxy S7, which is the newest model, is released, it can give out a feeling that it is an outdated phone,' according to a high-ranking official of a telecommunications company. Moreover, according to the source, Samsung is already referring to the next Note device as the Galaxy Note 7. Rumors are further stating that Samsung is also planning on using dual-edged screens for the Note series for the first time. However, it is still not known if this change will produce two variants, a Note 7, and a Note 7 edge, similar to the S flagships. As for the possible time of release, the new Note handset is seen to be launched around mid-August, which is at par with the Galaxy Note 5's announcement which was last August 13, 2015, and was made available to the public after just a week.
  • LGR - HDMI on a Black & White TV - Taking a 1984 Goldstar B&W television and using a string of adapters to let it use modern HDMI signals!
  • Foxconn Replaces 60,000 Factory Workers With Robots - A government official in China just announced that Foxconn has replaced 60,000 factory workers with robots. How long before other companies do the same? Robots are cheaper, work 24 hours a day, seven days a week with no overtime, can't call in sick....kinda like human employees in China, just less robotic. Former McDonald's chief executive Ed Rensi recently told the US's Fox Business programme a minimum-wage increase to $15 an hour would make companies consider robot workers. "It's cheaper to buy a $35,000 robotic arm than it is to hire an employee who is inefficient, making $15 an hour bagging French fries," he said.
  • Spotify family plan is now $14.99 - Spotify has offered Family Plans for some time now, but today the company is sweetening the deal while matching rival music streaming services from Apple and Google. The company has announced it is now allowing up to up to six listeners (they don't really need to be family) to grab a Premium subscription for $15 a month. Previously, Spotify charged $14.99 for two listeners and up to $29.99 for a family of five. The new pricing structure is rolling out globally starting today, except in Canada for some reason. Current Spotify family plan subscribers will automatically get upgraded to the new plan and should see a lower bill the next time they are charged.
  • Pebble Reveals Two New Watches and 3G Connected Button - Pebble today announced the Pebble 2 and Time 2 smartwatches, as well as the Core connected button. The two wearables target fitness users and include heart rate monitors for tracking workouts and monitoring sleep. Pebble recently updated its health tools, and the Pebble 2 and Time 2 are able to take advantage of the upgraded software. Both devices serve notifications, show the owner's schedule, control music, run some 13,000 apps, and perform simple tasks. Each has an e-paper display and is water resistant down to 30 meters. The Pebble 2 can run for seven days and costs $99, while the Time 2 can run for 10 days and costs $169. They work with Android an iOS smartphones. The Core is a 3G-enabled fob that Pebble says acts as a smartphone when on the go. The device has two buttons that can be programmed to do anything, such as start/stop streaming Spotify playlists. The Core has Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS radios, and can act as a relay to the internet for Pebble smartwatches. It can be paired with Bluetooth headsets and accept voice commands, serve as a hotspot, and sync with select fitness apps. The Core costs $99. All three devices are available for pre-order via Kickstarter. The Pebble 2 ships in September, the Time 2 ships in November, and the Core ships in early 2017.
  • How Deep Learning Can Paint Videos in the Style of Art's Great - Thanks to Instagram and Snapchat, adding filters to images and videos is pretty straight forward. But what if you could repaint your smartphone videos in the style of van Gogh's Starry Night or Munch's The Scream? A team of researchers from Germany's University of Freiburg has made significant strides toward this goal using an approach to artificial intelligence called deep learning. The team developed a method that uses a deep neural network to extract a specific artistic style from a source painting, and then synthesizes this information with the content of a separate video. NVIDIA GPUs make it possible to crunch through this computationally intensive work with striking results.
  • Finally, A Neodymium Magnet Defeats The Hydraulic Press - Pressing a Neodymium magnet with the hydraulic press.
  • Watch The Navy Fire Off A Swarm Of Autonomous Drones - The US Navy has been prototyping a launcher that can release dozens of drones in quick succession to "autonomously overwhelm an adversary."
  • Tesla Model X Beats A Supercar In A Race - Tesla's absurd acceleration tends to make drag races against other cars an unfair fight. So to make things a little bit more competitive, Motor Trend Channel strapped a trailer carrying an Alfa Romeo 4C to a Model X and raced it against another Alfa Romeo.
  • The Future Of Mass Transit - This high tech bus model was introduced at this year's China Beijing International High-Tech Expo. The engineers behind it claim that the vehicle would function similarly to a subway but would cost one fifth less to construct.
  • Professor Invents Device to Hear Crunchy Knees - You've injured your knee. A doctor straps a listening device to it, and the noises you hear coming out of it are cringe-worthy. Your knee isn't breaking; it's only bending, and in the future, those sounds could help doctors determine whether the convalescing joint is healthy yet, or if it needs more therapy. Research engineers at the Georgia Institute of Technology are developing a knee band with microphones and vibration sensors to listen to and measure the sounds inside the joint

  • Here's The Trailer For Dystopian Gamer Film 'The Call Up' - This indie movie follows a group of online gamers invited to try a state-of-the-art virtual reality video game. Unsurprisingly, things take a turn for the worse.

Umm ya because of retarded/lazy users who are too fucking lazy to read their screen? It says clearly to reschedule and or cancel so why the fuck would you be a fucking idiot and click X. I'll tell ya why, LAZY FUCKING LOSER USERS. But I do hope the forced upgrade happened to Koogle! LMFAO!!!!!! That would be a fucking slam fucking dunk!

https://www.google.ca/search?q=remove+win10+nag&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=BjNMV8ypLI-SmwHEtpnQBA

A million pages on how to disable Win10 nag forever if you choose. Class action lawsuit.. ya... I don't think so.

tom u shitbag

ive never been pestered by any of the winshit10 updates on my win7 install (thats because its customized u dumb bitch) which was again freshly installed last year roughly 1-2 months after i freshly installing that diabolic winshit10 OS to try it out.. and it got wiped off the hdd and i havent looked back...how you tested that pile of crap OS in beta... and saw nothing wrong with it.. you must be fking blind, it was riddled with bugs and shit design that i picked up on within hours of testing.

so only fking retards would glady use that piece of shit ugly looking junk for an OS

and no surprise to see ur being a good mircosuck bootlicker,

"It says clearly to reschedule and or cancel "
constantly hassling users, restricting users from have any easy option to disable or put off for there decided time.. ala winshi10 updates that won't let users disable updates or delay indefinitely without being hassled or just losing their unsaved work, as the OS does want it wants.. yes shitbag tom.

....those are all dirt bag manipulation tactics used by shitbag companies like MS, google etc, right from the book of shady malware tactics.. Circumvent the classic close window means fuck off to whatever running application. Now close window means to the OS just do whatever the fuck you want... and it does exactly that, employing every dirty trick in the book to fuck with users settings and preferences... changing them to want MS and scum partners want the global market of winshit users to be using.

those kind of tactics are used by underhanded and shady businesses.. good to see MS have joined them trying to catch up shitty google who are paving the way in shit design...and how to hassle users into doing what you want by manipulation...

its pretty sad to see MS go down the toilet this hard.. but I guess they should thank fucking asshats like you.

I guess it figures only retards would be happy with malware/spyware and adware becoming their OS.

Csimbi(05:37 PM CEST - May,30 2016 )
I guess Tom has missed the point.
Closing a dialog with the 'x' button is not a consent to install software.
Closing a dialog with the 'x' button is not a consent to nag constantly, either.
It does not matter if it's WinDOS 10 or your fap-fap-fap app.
Those are big no-nos in IT.
You could say, the cornerstones of IT security and spam protection.
WinDOS 10 (and Microsoft) must adhere to these rules like everyone else.

Tom(07:48 PM CEST - May,30 2016 )
Koogle you are slow. I don't care what you have to say. You are a clueless fuck with a big yap that I don't care to read or talk to. You only respond to MS articles because you are pathetic. Type and get your exercise for the day I don't care and probably neither does anyone else.

Csimbi, I won't reply to your stupidity other than if you think on a dialogue like that you click X and it goes away, you sir are just as dumb as the Koogle doorknob.

"It says clearly to reschedule and or cancel "

Figure it out and quit being a fucking dumb ass n00b like the idiot above you.

Microsoft says it isn't trying to be sneaky. In blog posts and official statements, the company says it shows users at least two notifications before it activates Windows 10. It also allows any PC owner to reverse the installation and go back to their old software if they do so within 31 days.

Fucking whiners. The bold has been the story since the beginning. You need better material than that Hx.

Fucking whiners?

Only this month I had to reinstall ~ 20 computers with Windows 10 garbage. Simply most things doesn't work anymore - various commercial software, printers, scanners, certificates, government apps, etc). Even Microsoft don't recommend Windows 10 for their Navision ERP...they recommend to keep Windows 7.

"You only respond to MS articles because you are pathetic"

..lies.

And the responses to MS articles is just because I despise the way MS is operating and just how fucking disappointing that OS and direction has gone starting with Win8..

Windows has always been upto a higher standard than Apple and Google crap, but they are slipping fast into mediocrity.

...And they deserve way more flak for the shit they are doing, not to mention the complete crap design direction and piss poor implementation of features.

And clearly you don't know enough or you are inexperienced. I love how you say this and that don't work. No specifics, versions or anything. In fact we only get Navision. Navision which doesn't and hasn't gone by the name Navision in almost 10 years!!! It was renamed in 2005!! Why would you refer to it as such??? Because you are using old unsupported crap software. One can only imagine what other old shit you have on those PC's and then what are the specs of those PC's. To even say Win10 doesn't support your government apps, when were they written????? Their crap written government programs!!! Probably written in the 90's or early 2000's??? OLD CRAP software just like your very own website built on old old old web software that has a million exploits.

And in the very end/least a person in the know of such things would have first researched the software to make sure it works with the new OS before upgrading 20 machines. Piss Poor Upgrade Strategy/Planning.

And that's why they are at a record setting 300 million PC's.
