- Microsoft's Surface 3 now on sale - Microsoft's
Surface 3 is now officially on sale and pre-orders are being
shipped out. The device, which is the company's lower cost addition to
the Surface family, starts at $499 and goes up from there as
accessories like the Type cover and pen are not included at that price.
The tablet is available around the globe which signals Microsoft's
confidence in the product as previous generation products were limited
in their release to the US.

has reported revenue for the first quarter ended April 26, 2015, of
$1.15 billion, up 4 percent from $1.10 billion a year earlier and down
8 percent from $1.25 billion the previous quarter. GAAP earnings per
diluted share for the quarter were $0.24, unchanged from $0.24 a year
earlier and down 31 percent from $0.35 in the previous quarter.
Non-GAAP earnings per diluted share were $0.33, up 14 percent from
$0.29 a year earlier and down 23 percent from $0.43 in the previous
quarter. "The importance of visual computing is evident all around us,"
said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and chief executive officer of NVIDIA.
"Our expertise in this field enables us to take a leading position to
advance deep learning, virtual reality and self-driving cars. "Our
singular focus on visual computing is aligned with some of the most
exciting growth opportunities in computing today," he said.

making a 1Ghz, open source embeddable computer that costs only nine
dollars.
The board is Open Hardware, runs a flavor of Debian Linux, and boasts a
1Ghz R8 ARM processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of eMMC storage.

Microsoft is feverishly working on a new browser that was
recently coined Edge, formerly Project Spartan. The new browser that
will ship with Windows 10 is a 'reset' for the company after it was
determined that Internet Explorer had far too much negative baggage to
overcome. In a Twitter Q&A session, the Edge dev team has confirmed
that the new browser will support syncing of bookmarks, passwords,
history and tabs, like FireFox sync. But, the company did not say when
this feature would arrive, only that it would be coming in a future
update.

is collaborating with U.S. researchers to launch apps that would
offer some iPhone owners the chance to get their DNA tested, many of

The apps are based on ResearchKit, a software platform Apple introduced
in March that helps hospitals or scientists run medical studies on
iPhones by collecting data from the devices' sensors or through
surveys. OMFG...Would you use an iPhone app to test your DNA?!
