(hx) 05:56 PM CET - Feb,19 2007 - Post a comment / read (4)
  • Intel Core2 Q6600 CPU - With the ability to overclock this processor so easily, you will be able to milk every last drop of performance from this chip.
  • Intel Bearlake-X chipset with PCI Express 2.0 in Q3 2007 - The code-named Bearlake-X chipset that will replace the Intel 975X from the top in the Q3 2007 will support PCI Express 2.0 bus with higher - 5.0GHz - clock-speed compared to current 2.5GHz, two PCI Express x16 lanes, dual-channel PC2-6400 (DDR2 800MHz) and PC3-10600 (DDR3 1333MHz) memory.
  • DFI LANPARTY UT NF590 SLI-M2RG AM2 Mobo - The AMD A64 platform surely isn't dead yet. But buying it nowadays for a high end setup would not be recommended
  • Roundup of USB Flash Drives with 4GB+ Storage Capacity - The highest-performance flash drive is.... Buffalo Ultra High Speed Flash Disk RUF2-S4GWH!
  • Google publishes hard drive failure study  - Google has published a rather interesting paper (PDF) regarding the failure rates of hard drives. The report examined 100,000 commercial hard drives, ranging from 80GB to 400GB in capacity, used at Google since 2001.
  • AutoPatcher February 2007 - AutoPatcher is a comprehensive collection of patches, addons and registry tweaks that give you peace of mind in the knowledge that your Windows system is up to date, even before you connect it to the Internet. It's designed to quickly patch a system with the most current updates and tweaks available, and requires no user interaction once you have selected what to install.
  • Ballmer Blames Pirates for Poor Vista Sales - Sorry Steve, we're not buying Vista because it's still not ready, not because we pirated it :-)
  • Spyware installer hides in Messenger ad banner - The banner itself appears to advertise and link to a download called Free PC-Secure (which is unfamiliar to us) but the real problem is that its appearance automatically launches a Windows dialog box
  • The Future of HDMI - AMD is expected to launch DisplayPort compatible GPUs later this year with NVIDIA opting for the standard as well. Early last year, Silicon Image stated that UDI will end up replacing both HDMI and DVI standards on the PC when it becomes available to reduce licensing fees, though it will still be compatible with the older standards.
  • Gigabyte GSmart q60: Feel the Dots - The phone comes with some awesome specs that any smartphone buyer would consider awesome. But what makes this one little more diverse' is the QWERTY keypad. It has a dotted texture and feel on the keypad. They look like Lego blocks placed at distant intervals.
  • Self-Assembling Batteries - Researchers at MIT have designed a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that assembles itself out of microscopic materials. This could lead to ultrasmall power sources for sensors and micromachines the size of the head of a pin.
  • Worker Sues IBM Over Adult Chat Room Firing - Some guy that was fired from IBM after being caught in an adult sex chat room, when he was supposed to be working….is now suing IBM for $5 million. Whoa! :-)
  • Hobbit in 2009? - Despite his falling out with "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy director Peter Jackson, who sued New Line regarding "The Fellowship of the Ring," New Line founder and co-chairman Robert K. Shaye is pressing ahead and eyeing a 2009 release for The Hobbit
  • New Simpsons Movie Trailer - A new trailer for Fox's The Simpson Movie is now online. Directed by David Silverman, the feature film hits theaters on July 27.
  • World's Greatest Car Security Alarm - check it out
  • Outlaw biker on Yamaha R1 posts video on YouTube and gets busted - A biker who filmed himself speeding at 100mph is set to be prosecuted after he posted the video on YouTube website. Jeremy Parrott, 37, was easily identified because he filmed himself leaving his front door before racing through a 30mph residential area. BTW: Pretty cool video :-)

Lol 'Pirates blamed for poor Vista sales'
Considering how may people held onto '98 when XP shipped, wasn't that enough of a clue for M$?
This time around, the barely XP folk (Slow uptake) will need a complete new PC to just get Vista to load -obviously.

PIRATES?? Nah, overbaked and overpriced more like, that and the more they (M$) go on and on 'hinting' that another OS is around the corner, the more people just back off waiting. Simple maths Ballmer.

xxxx(10:47 PM CET - Feb,19 2007 )
Yup totally agree. MS F'd up big with this OS. Ballmer is a moron. Blames pirates... yeah..that's it Stevie!! Pffffff... Nothing to do with the incredible stupid pricing of the OS. Oh, yes lets go out and spend $300!!!!! on Windows! These guys are smoking some good stuff... all I can say...

WillieT(11:40 PM CET - Feb,19 2007 )
Sure, blame the pirates. The easiest thing to do is to blame others. Most people didn't really pirate Vista coz there isn't a solid crack yet.. don't they know that? :D

xxxx(08:30 PM CET - Feb,20 2007 )
Is the Timer disable considered a crack, since all you have to do is use your legitimate key from beta and then use a 'system' command to reset the timer. Duh! Once the Genuine MS crap gets cracked though, it'll be a free for all, so I guess by 2009 MS will need a new OS cuz Vista wont sell except to n00bs who need that extra gui bloatedness...or cough, gui change as they say  Maybe in 2009 they can figure out a more logical way to secure their software. Obviously totally incapable so far...
