Core i5-600 series pricing revealed -
Intel plans to unveil 3 600-series CPUs
, the 650, 660, and 670. The Core i5-650 will run at 3.2GHz and sell for $176, while the 660 will be clocked at 3.33GHz and sell for $196. Intel's highest-end dual-core will be the Core i5-670, which runs at 3.46GHz and will be launched at $284. With just two cores and a 32-nm manufacturing process, these chips should be pretty inexpensive for Intel to manufacture assuming they're getting good yields. I'm not really sure how many DIY'ers will want to pick one up though considering Core i5-750 and Core i7-860 Lynnfield CPUs will offer four cores and similar pricing.
Tilera Announces 100-Core Processor -
Tilera today announced new
general-purpose CPUs, including a 100-core chip
, as it tries to make its way into the server market dominated by Intel and AMD. The two-year-old startup's Tile-GX series of chips are targeted at servers and appliances that execute Web-related functions such as indexing. The chips have the attributes of a general-purpose CPU as they can run the Linux OS and other applications commonly used to serve Web data. The Gx100 100-core chip will draw close to 55 watts of power at maximum performance, Agarwal said. The 16-core chip will draw as little as 5 watts of power.

Apple: Windows 7 is still Windows, complex and expensive - Apple says that consumers may turn to Mac computers because Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 7, is 'complex and expensive'...
The last people I'd listen to on advice on which operating system to go with is the people who are the direct competitors of microsoft. Man, apple sure is desperate.

I think a new O/S every five minutes is taking the piss but aside from that value for money is something I have never associated with apple, over pricing and charging for a brand name yes, value, no.

That is funny
"Windows 7, is 'complex and expensive'... "
Not only is windows 7 still the same dumbed down crap that was Vista, its also not as expense as its previous shite OS release of Vista.
And coming from Apple, a company that prides itself in releasing the absolute dire stinky poorly developed junk software ever. I think that is hilarious, OSX is like the most dumbed down unintuitive pile of shit you could possibly use for an OS, and yet also expense ie the hardware.
Still its also clever, because Windows is also becoming more dumbed down and generally fucking crap in order to compete for those same noobs, obviously useful features, good design and details with customization and actual options is confusing for simpletons, you just have to look at Vista where they started making most of these retarded changes. It also makes development work much simpler when you're just making crap for retards, that can easily be fooled with well crap.
So in way Apple are bringing Windows down to there own level of unintuitive shite, soon they'll be able to compete with Windows on the same level, for the same clueless stupid customers who will go get that upgrade because they've been duped into accepting inferior shit on faster releases cycles. I mean shitty objectdock vs oversized shitebar

This site has really gone to shit, used to be able to have relatively rational conversations from time to time with the exception of XXXX and that other recent XXXX clone, its impossible now with the constant bollocks Koogle is spewing daily towards everyone that doesn't take his opinion as fact.
Koogle, you may be right sometimes but constantly calling everyone "noob's" and "retards" makes you sound like a complete fuckwit.
Under normal circumstances I would expect to get banned for this but frankly after reading his stream of bile directed at other members for the last couple of weeks I don't give a fuck.

I'm with Badmagic on this one. I sometimes feel like commenting, but then I realize I will get more "noob, dumbed down, f crap, POS, retarded" standard replies and nothing else, so much like xxxx...
I wouldn't have commented now either, but I see there's normal and adequate people still here. So I just want to say hello! =)
And Koogle, calling smth unintuitive while the only real problem is that you're just not familiar with it and too used to the way it was before, well that's just "retarded" to use your phrasing. Go get yourself a server version for some non-noob action and drown yourself in all the options and customizations you want. Take care!

I don't think he has any bad intention, but it seems like something is making him extremely angry, his love for microsoft is obvious but somehow running out of hand, and their XP version is controlling his whole life and his way of thinking. It looks like he has some deep hidden admiration for Gates when he was still a fullblown nerd, and he doesn't tolerate any changes to that and to the OS. Of course you cannot expect him to act in a behaved manner, since he still uses a Microsoft OS. He simply refuses to switch to a better OS since those don't give a dime about being able to play games like WOW and those things on it, so I cannot do else than stick with XP. I understand what he goes through and his out-of-limits frustrations regarding the shift in environment. His vocabulary is a perfectly normal one for the masses who spend their days shooting bad guys in WOW and other FPS's. Their most used words are those you read here in every message, and there are others like BOOM! Pang! and Gotcha!
Anyway to make the story short, aren't we all in the same boat, meaning a whole bunch of Bill-admiring puppets called nerds, trying to hold on to something of which we knows works, and as Microsoft admirers, deep in us having that fear of changes because as we know our "leaders" tend to make serious mistakes more often than they should be, and fear of seeing things change is a normal reaction.
We cannot switch to Unix or Linux because there is no money to get there for the security business that controls the whole computer world, we cannot switch to Apple since these guys refuse to target the games, and they focus on the worker and his polished, perfectly designed desktop to get people looking at it to say WOW!
You get the idea, you get the frustration ? We all have them, the biggest trend in Windows user's computer pattern is installing and trying out security software, we visit security sites daily because we have become paranoia, we transformed ourselves into willing puppets of the security industry. We're waiting for that one game we don't wanna miss, and while we're doing so, we get anxious and angry because we understand the game will not be as polished as it was 15 years ago, how many patches will we have to download before we can actually play it without having fear to see the blue screen ? Which copy protection will come with it which will make us frustrated and angry, Will there ever be another game that has such a fantastic storyline and underlying humor as the games we played 10 years ago ? We keep on waiting and waiting and hoping one day we will see it back.... But no, we have to get anxious of which graphics card we need to buy now, we get frustrated because the card we bought yesterday is old shit today, and others are laughing with us, we need that top-op-the-line card now, because we need to see all the triangle form something extremely detailed, but it doesn't feel nor look any more great than the game we played 8 years ago. We feel frustrated again. We are all, in some way addicted to this pattern called the digital industry, we are victims yet only some of us tend to be honest about it, others don't and get depressed over time. Then the industry kicks in "The newest Microsoft System" will be available in XX months, get anxious for when it will be available, and once it is available it ain't all that great things we read all around the internet and in our weekly computer magazines, we feel depressed even more, but there's hope !!!! A new Service Pack will be out in XX months, just keep on taking your medications till it's there, and you will see, what's the difference ???? There IS a difference, this Service Pack just made your computer MUCH MORE SECURE !!!!! Oh dang, did it ????? Am I going schizofrenic because I don't see it being more secure, I just installed that SP and BANG! I got a blue screen !!! There you have it, As long as this blue screen is before your eyes your beloved computer is immune to any virus or trojan or malware, all you have to do is press the RESET button, be anxious about your system starting up normally, and GO VISIT that site of YOUR MASTERS of Security Software, and.............

Well I'm sorry you don't appreciate my colorful remarks against noobs n'tards :) I use the term noob loosely as someone who just isn't as clued up or like many just isn't as interested. Try not to take it personally. After all, if its good enough for you to enjoy then why get all bothered about what I have to say about it.
I'm interested in the constant bollocks bit? How about you elaborate on that , if I'm talking shit and you got something prove me wrong then say it. (I get the feeling I've insulted your OS?) You can always do what fanboy 'noobs' do and make lame attacks instead, its easier.
btw most my comments are about the news articles, nothing to do with members. Though I notice many get overly hostile and defensive without a leg to stand on in really defending the new beloved and shitty(I mean shiny) Windows 7 :)
"This site has really gone to shit"
Really? I see the noobs have come out the woodwork a lot more nowadays.
And Ozieo speak for yourself, you do not speak for me!
"And Koogle, calling smth unintuitive while the only real problem is that you're just not familiar with it and too used to the way it was before, well that's just "retarded" to use your phrasing. OSX is unintuitive garbage and whole lot more crap in ways I cannot even be bothered to go into detail on, and if by not familiar you meant just accepting inferior crap and getting used to it, like noobs do as they just can't comprehend anything better, then the only real problem is users like you who "think different" well I got words for you "THINK BETTER" And if you were talking about the stupid changes in Win7 and fista, then yes many of those were made for stupid people, they weren't better changes at all.

I've never used OSX, so I'm not able to judge it. I'll leave it to you, Koogle. Obviously, I wasn't talking about OSX either.
Those changes in W7 were made for less computer-savvy people. Here's an eye-opener: "not computer-savvy" doesn't equal "stupid"! That should be obvious to anyone. If you actually think otherwise then your criteria for which changes are to be considered "better" is flawed too.
I don't think you will become able to look at a problem from different angles, you're too focused on the angle more convenient for you. So I'm dropping out of this conversation, sorry.

It wouldn't work because even that wooden broomstick would be mocking you :P
"I don't think you will become able to look at a problem from different angles, you're too focused on the angle more convenient for you. So I'm dropping out of this conversation, sorry."
whatever, there is bad design and better design, Win7 is cleary aimed at the easier-to-sell-and-lie-too-market-of-the-noob, who doesn't know any better and is far less likely to go an install and customize tools that already exist and work better for XP, and make it way better than a using a moronically designed version of Win7 that was chucked out the window, even after all the years its had in development and its still a vista joke.
Dumbing things down is not better design, its just a cheaper route than the alternative of providing better more functional, customizable and intuitive design which in its self helps noobies better adapt to a more productive workflow. Instead what we have is far less productive UI design that's worse. The desktop search and its shit explorer usability integration and manageability is just one perfect example. It takes the piss even to noob users who are even less likely to know syntax in order to make advanced searches, somethin a decent sidebar ui could fix.. but nah fuck that, just make simple dumbed down shit and see what we can get away with.
So yes I get it, its not aimed at people who have a fucking clue, that's is why I don't use it, I have no use for it, until such a time that it actually has something to offer(as in developed outside of Microsuck campus) that betters what I already have, and provides enough of an enhancement that I could live with the inferior changes aimed at one those people who don't know any better. Doubt you'll see that happening before Win8 which I'm more likely to try than Win7sp1 even.

When you get lots of people telling you to go see a shrink, perhaps you should. As far as I'm concerned you don't know jack all, you never knew jack all but you always have known how to flap your lips and insult people. There's no need for a moderator, especially one you would choose that would be major biased and overruled. Just ban the guy already. You've done it to countless others for less.
Koogle
(05:12 PM CET - Nov,02 2009 )
You know I think my cat whines less than you Tom.
..don't know jack all, never knew jack all... so pathetic, I wouldn't be surprised if you were talking about yourself, I didn't bother replying to your last stupid reply as I just couldn't bothered to waste my time.
And you should know asking for people to banned so you don't have hear what they have to say is sure sign of stupidity and fanboyism. What you want to filter the internet so its fits in with your own simple minded views. And I have only insulted those that vainly tried to do the same, infact its probably the only thing they did do.
"When you get lots of people telling you to go see a shrink, perhaps you should. "
Sorry but I don't listen to idiots who get easily offended! especially when they count 2 people as lots including themselves. I'm sure you could gather up some more idiots if you'd like to make a petition though :P
