  • HP Envy 13 Review: Beautiful design, decent hardware, great price - For many people, spending $1,000 on a laptop is not feasible, even if high-end hardware is important. This is where the HP Envy 13 comes in: it packs hardware that’s comparable to a $1,000 laptop in a MacBook Air-like package, complete with a price that starts at just $800. In some ways, the Envy is the budget high-end laptop that price-conscious shoppers may be after.
  • Apple launches 9.7-inch iPad Pro - The new, smaller iPad Pro comes in silver, gold, space gray, and rose gold, priced at $600 for 32GB and $750 for 128GB and a whopping 256GB for $900. Like the new iPhone SE, the new Pro will be available for pre-order on March 24 and will start shipping on March 31.
  • Apple Says iOS 9.3 Available - Apple said iPhone and iPad owners will be able to download and install iOS 9.3 starting today. iOS 9.3 is a more significant point update than normal. It adds Night Shift to help reduce eye fatigue at night. It reduces blue light on the screen. The platform brings education tools to teachers and school admins, such as Managed IDs, and support for multiple sign-ins on a single device. iOS 9.3 also adds protected Notes, to secure files via Touch ID. Fitness and health data is more accessible thanks to a revised dashboard in Apple Health. The platform expands News functionality by adding support for landscape video playback on the iPhone, as well as more targeted article suggestions. iOS 9.3 is free to download and install over the air, or via iTunes.
  • Justice Dept. Receives Offer to Help Unlock iPhone - The U.S. Department of Justice may have found a way to unlock the San Bernadino shooter's iPhone without Apple.
  • Google Offering Its Speech API to App Developers - Google has said developers will soon be able to add speech recognition to their apps through the Google Could Speech API. Google is offering the same neural network-based tool it uses in its own voice search and keyboard apps. The API recognizes more than 80 languages and dialects, and can transcribe spoken words into text as well as respond to voice commands. The API can translate text in real time or in batches, can recognize spoken words over noisy environments, and can filter out inappropriate words/content. Google is offering the Cloud Speech API to developers for free for a limited time. Google didn't disclose how it might price access to the API down the road.
  • 90 Second Unboxing: Samsung Galaxy TabPro S with Windows 10 - Mollie Ruiz-Hopper from the Windows Blog unboxes the new Samsung Galaxy TabPro S with Windows 10. The Galaxy TabPro S provides a full PC experience - featuring a full-size keyboard with trackpad, a 12-inch Super AMOLED display and more!
  • Amazon issues emergency update for older Kindle e-readers - Amazon has issued a critical software update for select Kindle e-readers that must be installed by March 22, 2016, in order for the device to retain its connection to the Internet.
  • Pornhub to offer free VR content - Pornhub is one of several adult entertainment providers investing heavily in the future of VR. The company on Tuesday announced that it had partnered with adult VR entertainment specialist BaDoinkVR to launch a virtual reality category on its site. According to the press release, the move makes Pornhub the first to offer free 360-degree adult content. Pornhub Vice President Corey Price said it's their duty to provide their global audience with the latest in cutting edge technology. Virtual reality is the next phase in the constantly metamorphosing world of adult entertainment and will provide users with a mesmeric experience unlike anything they've seen before. The executive added that its users are not only able to view content but be protagonists in the experience and interact with their favorite porn stars. What if you don't have a VR headset? No problem – Pornhub is giving away 10,000 smartphone-holding Google Cardboard-style headsets to anyone that wants one (although they're probably all gone by this point).
  • Microsoft launches Tay, an AI chat bot - Microsoft has unveiled a new artificial intelligence-powered chat bot called Tay. Developed by Microsoft's Technology and Research team with help from the Bing team, Tay isn't a virtual assistant like Siri or Facebook's M. Instead, it's a true chat bot in the sense that it's meant to engage and entertain people. Surely Microsoft didn't build an AI bot just to entertain people, right? Of course not. Tay is an experiment to conduct research on conversational understanding. Artificial intelligence and machine learning have become incredibly skilled over the past several years but most platforms still struggle with things like language context and humor.
  • Robot At SXSW Declares That She Wants To Destroy Humans - Robotics is finally reaching the mainstream and androids - humanlike robots - are everywhere at SXSW. Experts believe humanlike robots are the key to smoothing communication between humans and computers, and realizing a dream of compassionate robots that help invent the future of life.

I found it quite humorous that 'Tay' went off the rails and started offending SJWs in under 24 hours. Advanced tech indeed. They should've just let it continue on to see how far it would take its offensiveness, and/or if it would adapt to society's reactions to it. Could've been an interesting experiment.
