Intel launches Core i7-930, Atom N470 CPUs - Intel's finally concocted a replacement for the Core i7-920, the last remaining Bloomfield CPU from Intel's November 2008 launch. The Core i7-930 runs at 2.8GHz, with 8MB of L3 cache and 4.8 GT/sec QPI interface. Intel's list price is $294, $10 more than the Core i7-920. Besides the new i7, Intel's also rolled out a new Atom CPU. The N470 is based on Intel's PineView platform. It's a single-core CPU clocked at 1.83GHz with 512K of cache. Official price is $75, making it the priciest Atom CPU Intel offers at the moment. TDP is 6.5 watts.

Apple iPad Available April - Apple announced that its iPad will be available in the US on Saturday, April 3, for Wi-Fi models and in late April for Wi-Fi + 3G models. In addition, all models of iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK in late April. Beginning a week from today, on March 12, US customers can pre-order both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G models from Apple's online store or reserve a Wi-Fi model to pick up on Saturday, April 3, at an Apple retail store.
