- AMD Cuts Desktop CPU Prices - The biggest cuts went to
the fastest X2
CPUs, with the 6000+ going from $464 to just $241, while the 5600+ is
now priced at $188 (from $326).
- GeForce 8800 Ultra on May 1st & Costs $999 -
The $999 price
point suggests the 8800 Ultra may actually be two 8800-series cards in
one package.
- Western Digital intros drives for A/V recording -
The new Western
Digital AV drives are based on a 3.5" form factor, and WD says they
provide higher reliability, cooler and quieter operation, and lower power
consumption than other models.
- R600 renders a stone, pictured -
Fudzilla managed get a screenshot from a yet to be shown R600 demo.
Punters who are invited to the R600 launch event in Tunisia in two weeks
time will get to see this first hand.
- Windows Vista Revisited - For gaming,
Vista was better off with the current 100.65 drivers from NVIDIA,
