TechNews - 7GHz with AMD Phenom II - tech
(hx) 03:21 PM CET - Nov,07 2009 - Post a comment / read (2)
  • AMD Readies Two Desktop Platforms for May 2010 - DigiTimes reports that AMD plans to announce new high-end desktop and mainstream platforms in May of 2010. Leo will consist of a 45nm Phenom II series or upcoming six-core Thuban CPU with either 890FX or 890GX (RD890) northbridge and SB850 southbridge chipsets and an ATI Radeon HD 5000 series graphics card, the sources noted. Dorado will comprise an Athlon II CPU, 880G (RS880P) northbridge and SB810 southbridge and HD 5000 series GPU.
  • Road to 7GHz with AMD Phenom II (video) - The Saga of 7GHz on AMD Phenom II on Dragon Technology is here. An epic journey taken by overclockers across the land. The third in the trilogy that began with The Experiment and continued with Xtreme Conditions can now been seen by all. Enjoy as World Records are shattered, new cooling methods deployed, and the threshold of 7GHz is crossed.
  • GeForce GT 240 coming next month? - Fudzilla claims NVIDIA will introduce a 40-nm, 96-shader GeForce GT 240 November 17th. The chip, which is intended to replace the GeForce 9600 GT/9600 GSO, will supposedly be paired with 900MHz GDDR3 memory initially, and potentially GDDR5 at some point also. Core and shader clocks aren't mentioned though.
  • Nvidia-CEO talks about Fermi - Nvidia-CEO Jen-Hsun Huang has talked about the next Nvidia generation 'Fermi', when he has published revenue and earning. Huang says that Fermi will be a really new architecture and that they have big plans with Geforce, Quadro and Tesla in Q1/2010.
  • EVGA launches hybrid Nvidia based graphics card/PhysX card - EVGA has announced the GTX 275 Co-op, a new card that has a chip dedicated just to hardware-accelerated game physics support. The GTX 275 has a Nvidia GTX 275 graphics chip just for GPU duties plus another Nvidia chip, the GTS 250, that's set up specifically as a PhysX chip only. The card also has SLI support which means you can have three GPUs plus the extra just for PhysX support.. As you can see the card has the Joker's face just waiting to give you the creeps as EVGA and Nvidia are branding this card as the perfect way to play the PhysX-supported Batman: Arkham Asylum. Pricing for the card will be a bit high (over $300) but it looks like Batman: Arkham Asylum will be bundled with the card.
  • Sapphire Radeon HD5870 / HD5750 Vapor-X Edition Video Card Tested - One way or another, the HD 5870 remains an extremely popular card and it is great to finally see Sapphire release a card we have been seeing leaked images of for weeks now. Their HD 5870 Vapor-X is really a jack of all trades that excels in every meaningful area and then some. To say that we were satisfied by its performance is an understatement of epic proportions since it was able to consistently beat a stock clocked card while offering some truly awe-inspiring cooling performance.
  • Seagate XT 2TB SATA 6GB/s Hard Drive Testing - The old SATA 3.0 GB/s standard has been holding back performance for those running RAID SSDs arrays for some time now, so maybe once SATA 6GB/s SSDs come out the technology will look a little more impressive with results we can actually see in the real world rather than on synthetic benchmarks only. Still, many enthusiasts will purchase motherboards and drives with these features as a way of future proofing their current systems. SATA 6GB/s is backwards compatible with SATA 3.0 GB/s drives so you won't end up with a header on your board that can't be used no matter how you look at it.

Through repeated use of this conditioning device you can train your brain to smile all the time. This is the first in a series of Tools for Improved Social-Interacting. Heh.

national security.. lol yeah its for your own enslavement citizen. Now go take your vaccine - Obama lama said so.

I guess wakey wakey time will come once everyone has sleep-walked right into the shit nest. Taking down draconian bullshit laws that are only there to benefit corporations, is an even harder thing to do once they've been put in place.
