17th page of Tom's Hardware's GeForce GTX 750 Ti graphics card review
is a simple benchmark result that will
dramatically disrupt
the landscape of cryptocurrency mining:
360Fly - Capture everything in 360! -

Microsoft issues 'Fix it' patch for IE9 and IE10 zero-day exploit -
The exploit
was first discovered and published by the FireEye security firm, which added that it was used by the mystery hackers to compromise the website of the U.S. Veterans of Foreign Wars. Microsoft has now released a quick
"Fix It" patch
that will close the exploit in both IE9 and IE10. Older versions of the browser are not affected by this problem. Neither is Internet Explorer 11, which means users of IE9 and IE10 who are running Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 can upgrade to IE11 and be protected from the issue. Microsoft will release a permanent security patch for both browsers in the near future, most likely during March's "Patch Tuesday" event.
Adobe Issues Another Emergency Patch -
Adobe has released
security updates
for Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44 and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh and Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.336 and earlier versions for Linux. These updates address vulnerabilities that could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. Adobe is aware of reports that an exploit for CVE-2014-0502 exists in the wild, and recommends users update their product installations to the latest versions.
New Tinder Security Flaw Exposed Users' Exact Locations for Months -
Internet security researchers in New York say that
a flaw in Tinder
, the super-popular hookup app, made it possible to find users' precise location for between 40 and 165 days, without any public notice from the company. Tinder-which connects flirty smartphone users with others nearby-is supposed to show users roughly how close they are to each other. Distance is rounded to the nearest mile, a safe-seeming threshold that has helped the app become addictive to both sexes. In October, however, researchers at Include Security discovered that Tinder servers were actually giving much more detailed information-mileage to 15 decimal places-that would allow any hacker with 'rudimentary' skills to pinpoint a user's location to within 100 feet. Depending on the neighborhood, that's close enough to determine with alarming accuracy where, say, an ex-girlfriend is hanging out.
Dear Asus router user: You've been pwned -
Hackers expose eight-month-old Asus weakness
by leaving note on victims' drives! According to
Kyle Lovett
, the weakness affects a variety of Asus router models, including the RT-AC66R, RT-AC66U, RT-N66R, RT-N66U, RT-AC56U, RT-N56R, RT-N56U, RT-N14U, RT-N16, and RT-N16R. Asus reportedly patched the vulnerabilities late last week, but as Jerry's experience demonstrates, it has yet to be installed on some vulnerable routers.
You Should Update To iOS 7.0.6 -
Yesterday, Apple pushed
a rather spooky security update for iOS

Microsoft Office for iPad Tipped to Launch Before July -
If you are one of the millions who own and work with an iPad and looking forward to the day you can finally get Microsoft Office up and running on it, looks like that day will be coming
much sooner that expected
. The Office app would include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. The iPad version is likely to tie in with SkyDrive, which is soon to be renamed OneDrive. Microsoft released an iPhone version in 2013 that utilised a paid Office 365 subscription to let users create and edit documents. Pricing for the app is yet to be revealed, although Microsoft may release it for free and then require and Office 365 subscription to edit the documents that can save to OneDrive.
Samsung drops a new teaser video for Galaxy S5 -
Samsung is about to drop the official news about the Galaxy S5 smartphone in a few days, but today the

Facebook Is Buying WhatsApp for $16B -
Facebook has announced
that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire WhatsApp, a rapidly growing cross-platform mobile messaging company, for a total of approximately $16 billion, including $4 billion in cash and approximately $12 billion worth of Facebook shares. The agreement also provides for an additional $3 billion in restricted stock units to be granted to WhatsApp's founders and employees that will vest over four years subsequent to closing.
WhatsApp passed on Google's $10B offer before Facebook deal -
Something like that shouldn't be worth 19 billion
. Especially not when you consider how fast the tech market is changing. Does Facebook plan to buy the 'next best thing' for 19 billion every four years. Anyway, the world is going in the wrong direction :-(
Samsung plans to implement the fingerprint sensor in the Galaxy S5 -
According to a report published by
SamMobile
based on information from their sources, Samsung will be shipping the Galaxy S5 with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the device's home button similar to the one on Apple's iPhone 5s. In order to use the sensor, a user will have to swipe from the top of the home button to the bottom. The report mentions that the sensor would not function with moist or wet fingers and the user will be presented an error. The interesting aspect of Samsung's implementation is that during the swipe, the S5 will show the fingerprint being scanned on the display in real-time. It is also revealed that the fingerprint sensor will be used for providing security to the apps of the user's choice in addition to the whole device as Samsung has enabled the functionality throughout the operating system on the Galaxy S5. Up to eight fingerprints can be stored on the Galaxy S5 with one mandatory for unlocking the smartphone. The Galaxy S5 will feature a Personal Folder and Private Mode accessible by entering a PIN, unlock pattern or stored fingerprint.

Pirate Sites Generate $227M In Ad Revenue a Year -
A new report published by the Digital Citizens Alliance
estimates that the top "pirate sites" generate $227 million in annual ad revenue. The major torrent sites have the highest profit margins and earn over $6 million each per year, partly funded by major brands such as Amazon, McDonalds and Xfinity. It's no secret that running a torrent portal, linking site, or cyberlocker can be highly profitable. Thus far, however, only a few have attempted to quantify the money that flows into these businesses.

"Nvidia Is About To Steal The Cryptocurrency Mining Crown From AMD"
non-issue. Neither are close to ~10e/GHs so who cares. I think that most people that still use graphic cards for mining are very very very very optimistic people mining lightcoin or some other worthless crap thinking it will have the same "over inflated" balloon effect and they will get rich. Though chance...
Reality is:
http://www.butterflylabs.com/monarch/
600 GH/s, 350W, $2,196
Now if that company prefers selling you such hardware instead of hogging it, think about where this is all going...I mean, that card, in theory (bit coin calc) makes ~1600 euros profit monthly...
and yea, bitcoin price is diving nose down.

(03:27 PM CET - Feb,24 2014 )
Between chuckling at all the morons mining virtual currency and outright pointing and laughing at the idiots who bought into the Facebook IPO, I'm having a grand ol' time watching people run off the cliff with their checkbooks in hand.
There's a sucker born every minute, as the saying goes.
