  • ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces Maximus VIII Extreme - ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the Maximus VIII Extreme, a new flagship Z170 gaming motherboard loaded with exclusive overclocking and gaming features. Based on the new Intel Z170 Express chipset and LGA 1151 socket for the latest 6th-generation Intel processors, the Maximus VIII Extreme is the culmination of months of exhaustive R&D - thousands of hours spent examining all aspects of Skylake and enhancing exclusive ROG features to get the best from the platform. Overclocking headroom starts at the hardware layer - the Maximus VIII Extreme is engineered from the ground up to provide exceptional performance in every area. Starting with voltage regulation, processor power is provided by the Extreme Engine DIGI+ voltage-regulator module (VRM) which provides clean, stable power that reacts quickly to transients, ensuring there are no bottlenecks for high current power delivery when it's needed.
  • You can now preorder the 1TB - i7 Surface Book... for $3,199.00 - If you looked at the pre-orders right after Microsoft's October 6th devices event and were disappointed by the lack of a 1 TB option for the Surface Book, fret no longer. Microsoft is now offering this option complete with a Intel i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and the dGPU built into the keyboard. Of course, having the best-of-the-best comes at a price. Customers who want Microsoft's top of the line notebook will have to drop $3,199. The $3,199.00 price tag means customers who want the most storage out of Microsoft's "ultimate laptop" will have to shell out an extra $500 to double their space over the 512 GB model. The $3,199.00 price tag rounds out the Surface Book tiers as the most expensive option Microsoft has ever offered. Only the $2,699.00 512 GB Surface Book and the 1 TB Surface Pro 4 come even close to the 1 TB Surface Book in terms of cost.
  • Microsoft begins internal development of Windows 'Redstone' - It was earlier this year that we broke news about Redstone, the next major update coming to Windows 10. Now, according to sources, it appears that Redstone has now entered into early development.
  • Next big Windows 10 release will ease activation hassles - The latest preview release of Windows 10 includes the first glimpse of a new feature designed to eliminate one specific activation headache. When this change rolls out to the general public next month, you'll be able to use your Windows 7 or 8.1 product key to complete a Windows 10 upgrade.
  • Windows 10 Upgrade Nags Become More Aggressive - Are you running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 and not feeling the love for Windows 10? It seems Microsoft is making it harder for users to opt out of upgrading. Reports are circulating that some users are being presented with dialog boxes that only give them the option to start the upgrade process or reschedule it for a later date. Others are finding that the Windows Update screen is only offering them the option to begin the upgrade process, with other system updates being hidden from view. Is there anything you can do to reverse this situation? Right now there isn't. Even Josh Mayfield, the maker of the GWX Control Panel -- an excellent utility that has previously allowed users to opt out of and avoid the nags to upgrade to Windows 10 -- doesn't have an answer at present.
  • Watch a 'USB killer' stick destroy a laptop when it's plugged in - The USB Killer, which looks like a normal USB stick, was created by a Russian security researcher known as "Dark Purple." Instead of storing data, though, it acts as a cyber weapon, destroying a computer by sending a bolt of electricity through its USB interface
  • Russian Hackers Breached Dow Jones - Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal and other influential financial publications, said Friday it was looking into a report that Russian hackers had used information stolen from its servers to trade on before it became public. Bloomberg, citing four sources it did not identify, said the FBI, Secret Service and the Securities and Exchange Commission were leading the investigation of the intrusion. The incident was said to be "far more serious" than a data breach disclosed by Dow Jones a week ago, according to the Bloomberg report. Dow Jones CEO William Lewis said last week that his company was the target of a hack that may have exposed the credit and debit card information of "fewer than 3,500 individuals." In a statement to NBC News on Friday, Dow Jones indicated it was unaware of the broader intrusion.
  • Adobe plugs critical vulnerability in Flash with emergency update - Flash users, it's time to update the plugin ASAP. Adobe has today issued an emergency security update to patch a critical vulnerability, just three days after the last update. Adobe says the vulnerability could potentially give an attacker control of an affected system. This update will bring the Flash NPAPI plugin up to version 19.0.0.226 on Windows and OS X clients. Chrome and Edge will automatically update themselves with the latest plugins for those browsers, according to the security bulletin. Peter Pi of Trend Micro says this vulnerability could allow attackers to get around mitigation techniques that Adobe and Google created together if it's left unpatched
  • New Adobe Flash Zero-Day Used in Pawn Storm Campaign - Trend Micro researchers have discovered that the attackers behind Pawn Storm, the long-running cyber-espionage campaign, are using an Adobe Flash zero-day exploit code for their attacks. The particular affected vulnerability is still unpatched, making Flash users vulnerable to attacks. In this most recent campaign of Pawn Storm, several Ministries of Foreign Affairs received spear phishing e-mails. These contain links to sites that supposedly contain information about current events, but in reality, these URLs hosted the exploit
  • Apple Found Guilty of Infringing U. of Wisconsin Patent - Apple is facing a massive judgment in a patent complaint concerning processors found in the iPhone and iPad. A jury in Madison, Wisconsin, found Apple guilty of using a patent owned by the University of Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) without permission. The patent involves increasing the efficiency of chips. The technology is found in the A7, A8, and A8x processors, which power the iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus, and the iPad Air 2. Apple sought to have the patent declared invalid, but the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected Apple's bid. WARF originally filed the lawsuit in January 2014 and just recently filed a second lawsuit concerning the A9 and A9x chips, which are in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus and the forthcoming iPad Pro. Apple could be on the hook for up to $862 million. The trial is now moving to the penalty phase to determine how much Apple owes. Apple maintained its innocence.
  • EU Court To Decide If Streaming Pirated Movies Is Legal - Seeking clarification, a Dutch court has referred several streaming related questions to the EU Court of Justice. The questions relate to a case between local anti-piracy group BREIN and a seller of so-called "pirate boxes" that come pre-loaded with streaming plugins. It is currently unclear whether streaming pirated movies is permitted under EU law.
  • Sprint to Start Throttling Heaviest Users - Sprint has said it will begin slowing the data speeds of its heaviest users, which amounts to a massive policy change for the carrier. Sprint has long sought to differentiate itself from competitors by maintaining an unlimited plan with no throttling or overage charges. Beginning today, however, customers who exceed 23GB of data in a single billing period will see their data speeds reduced when cell sites are congested or constrained. "This QoS practice is intended to protect against a small minority of unlimited customers who use high volumes of data and unreasonably take up network resources during times when the network is constrained," explained Sprint. "It's important to note that this QoS technique operates in real-time and only applies if a cell site is constrained. Prioritization is applied or removed every 20 milliseconds. And performance for the affected customer returns to normal as soon as traffic on the cell site also returns to normal, or the customer moves to a non-constrained site." Sprint says the new policy will protect the network for the 97% of customers who don't use excessive amounts of data. Sprint claims the 23GB threshold is far more than most customers ever use, and can be used to load 600 photos, stream 60 hours of music, or stream 50 hours of video. T-Mobile has a similar QoS policy in place.
  • T-Mobile Brings Back 10GB for $120 Family Promo - T-Mobile today resurrected its "10gigs4all" promotion, which includes 10GB of LTE 4G data, unlimited talked and text, and all the Uncarrier benefits for four lines for a total of $120 per month. Two lines can snag the 10GB offering for $100 per month. T-Mobile normally charges $20 per each additional line. Under the terms of this promotion, the fourth line is essentially "free." T-Mobile says customers who sign up for this plan can keep it for as long as they remain T-Mobile customers.

  • 2016 BMW M2 Coupe Interior and Exterior - BMW has finally introduced the highly anticipated 2016 M2. The Munich-based car maker's newest M-badged model has big shoes to fill because it is billed as a successor to the limited-edition 1 Series M Coupe. Power for the M2 is provided by an evolution of the M235i's turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine that has been upgraded with high-performance components borrowed from the bigger M3/M4. As a result, it delivers 365 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 343 pound-feet of torque from 1,400 to 5,560 rpm, though an overboost function can bump torque up to 369 lb-ft. for short bursts of time.

Focus Features will release Ratchet and Clank in theaters April 29th, 2016 next year.
  • 4K Cameras Were Meant For Recording Awesome Zero-Gravity Tricks - Once again, astronauts on the International Space Station dissolved an effervescent tablet in a floating ball of water, and captured images using a camera capable of recording four times the resolution of normal high-definition cameras. The higher resolution images and higher frame rate videos can reveal more information when used on science investigations, giving researchers a valuable new tool aboard the space station. This footage is one of the first of its kind. The cameras are being evaluated for capturing science data and vehicle operations by engineers at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

I always use this batch for both Win7 and Win8.1

On Win8.1 - if you need a driver (printer, etc), framework etc. You have to temporary enable Windows Update :-(

If you can't afford a Mac, just buy a shitty PC and put Linux on it. I recommend Fedora. Great UI (easy to use), stable and recognize all kinds of hardware (don't have to look for drivers). And like Macs, don't come with crapware.

Really I haven't had a single issue with Win10. Many people I know running it have also said nothing about problems. I guess if you're an idiot like you, probably will have issues. You keep going with WinXP ya clueless dipshit.

Fedora sucks, SUSE is better than Fedora. Linux Mint or Lubuntu are way better choices than anything else, Lubuntu if you have older hardware especially. Linux mint contains all the codecs you could ever need and the closest thing to WinXP type UI. You know for faggots like Koogle who can't handle change and need to live 10 years in the past. If you want a leaner linux go with Lubuntu. Who the fuck would be retarded enough to want a fucking piece of shit crybaby company made PC from Apple. Unghhh. Oh you touched your mobile that's a patent infringement. Oh you put a battery in the back of your phone, oh that's a patent infringement. Fucking crybaby companies. Because unlike some clueless fucks on this website, I know what I'm talking about. Thanks.

Well mr.magoo not everyone clicks YES to all , sure win10 runs fine BUT underneath thats were it gets dirty and not everyone can see what they have to disable because they may not have the skills..but then again in your world those people are dumb and shitty retards i guess.

Well ain't it sweet , thats how one installs a OS today i am pretty sure "normal" people knows that right after they bought a copy it says so on the Box right , no it dosen't and many many people don't know what to do because they don't visit those sites , they just buy a copy and unaware of what this winspy 10 does while they use it , lower your nosetip a little and think ahead

Ya my father who's closing in on 70 knew what to do. So I chalk anyone else up to being a fucking idiot. If a 70 year old grandpa takes the time to give a shit and look around and turns stuff off, some dipshit like you or Koogle should be able to do it too. And like I said, they have programs to help you if you are so incompetent/lazy or stupid.

Yo! Captain Clueless. Why would they name it NetherShit after you? Redstone aki Minecraft I think was a better choice. But only a wack job like you would get so heated over it. Oh it's MS and you need to be an asshole, I remember now.

looks like I got someones panties in a twist eh tom

his attacks against me make

also 'nethershit' is a perfectly fitting codename for any future windoze os.. the nether realm is a hell like world in any popculture references you know that right, and what better description could describe M$ shit spyware infested garbage designed piss poor customizable OS, though being honest I see most desktop OS are having very similar directions. At least you are right in describing linux desktops as being similar to winxp, of course I'd say there are even worse than winxp, xp at least still has a shit ton of shell extensions, while linux desktops are stuck with piss poor usability issues and a myriad of bugs. Perhaps with the dumbing of windows there will eventually not be much difference between all OS's, they'll all just be equally as shit as the other :)

It is the dumbing down in the design of everything, and where surveillance and data collection is at the forefront of most the shit coming out of the industry these days.. for completely non-nefarious purposes, your protection, marketing, non-useful meta data (not useful at all cough cough)....and all that shit of course.

That's right. Blunt and in your face, never changing. Like it or don't like it, I don't give a shit. Like Koogle, go grab yourself a Windows XP box and stick with that. You're probably too stupid to use Windows 10.

Linux requires effort to get it the way you want. If your too stupid and lazy to use/learn/configure Windows 10, stay away from Linux. Stick with XP Koogle, it's the extent of your knowledge and skills.

Koogle(04:15 PM CEST - Oct,20 2015 )
"Linux requires effort to get it the way you want"

no shit, it requires practically developing from scratch just about everything. linux does not have the same level of quality in tools, extensions and applications.. it just doesn't have the same developer tools, api's and documentation for anyone to really fucking bother.

And of all the shell extensions and applications i use on windows not one of them has a comparably decent alternative on linux.. not one but at windows rate of destruction neither will windoze.

even comparing bare os features of current linux desktop variants to winxp.. and ignore the usability bugs and odd quirks.. its joke.. and you're a joke tom

"If your too stupid and lazy to use/learn/configure Windows 10, "

Guess I'm just not intelligent enough to like Windows 10, tom... I just can't admire its shit ass design and deeply infested malware inspired architecture like you can.....personally looks more like it was designed for idiots by a disturbingly mentally ill degeneration of people developing such slop.

And i'm sure my windows10 setup last month is probably more configured with added shell extensions custom themes than yours, but nothing could keep me using that shit I went back to win7. And I wouldn't put it past you for actually having to use the "Paranoid/N00b" tool ..... Hardly fuck all that is readily made available to configure in winshit 10, a mountain of infested background scheduled tasks ,reg tweaks and group policies... and that's just the known stuff, the more deeply infested shit who knows. Most the options and customization in win10.. is fuck all and pathetic... seems to be more removed, just basic shit within cluster fuck of legacy gui and new modern shit gui's to appease retards like you tom.

and you're calling people too stupid to use winblows 10.. how arrogant are you? that os is so fucking dumbed down, designed for child like minded adults retards like you tom, idiocracy inspired shit gui's. anyone can use it, and be used by it, only morons could like that shit though.

In other words it was too complicated for you. So rather admit you are incompetent with new OS's and Linux you try a lame attack on me.

At home I use Linux for my main HTPC. Works great and I can remote to it and access it with all the devices in the house. I don't know what alternative softwares you could possibly be looking for but I have no problems in Linux. Photo's, Music etc. And my kids use it as well, self learned. My kids!!! Be it using and grabbing things from my SAN, streaming, browsing, checking mail. My son even figured out streaming from steam. He's 13. Says a lot for you and your competence eh Koogle.

I use Windows for gaming and remote connectivity to work. I didn't feel like being on an old OS. At work I test and work with so many OS's it's hard to not go to Win10. Oh and I don't use tools Koogle. Those are intended for clueless lazy ass people like you. Sorry had to re-itterate that to you but I know your slow.

I think Win10 is just too complicated for you Koogle, it figures you'd tuck the tail and run back to Win7. Big mouth, no brains.

Pretty much sums it up eh Koogle.

Tom> zarlin> Tom> Ya my father who's closing in on 70 knew what to do. So I chalk anyone else up to being a fucking [censored]. If a 70 year old grandpa takes the time to give a shit and look around and turns stuff off, some dipshit like you or Koogle should be able to do it too. And like I said, they have programs to help you if you are so incompetent/lazy or stupid.

well ain't he clever , tho having mr Goffy standing behind him telling him sure helps him.

SO if your dad and you Goofy can do it NO ONE should have any problem doing it.

Sure tells alot about you...

:-({|=

That's right. Blunt and in your face, never changing. Like it or don't like it, I don't give a shit. Like Koogle, go grab yourself a Windows XP box and stick with that. You're probably too stupid to use Windows 10.

Uhh Tuffguy damm you are one dark hard tuff "its my way or the highway" dude Lots of ....words and a photo of yourself selling out....you may aswell because you sure ain't using your brain with that attitude.

never changing well

Good Luck =D>

Look at your mind boggling 177 posts, 90% or more of which are nothing but trolling. Go run back to your closet and go play with yourself. I don't have to use my brain for anything on this site even battling haters like Koogle and troglodytes like you.

Koogle(10:59 PM CEST - Oct,20 2015 )
see this is what I find so funny with you tom is that you picture me as someone who doesn't have a clue, and that because of how you use windows and linux and that its good for you and how you use it. Then it must be that i'm too stupid to do the things you do, and that is the reason why i say the things i do... so wrong you are though, i'm more of a power user when it comes to software and extensibility or lack of, I like power features and control over how things work, so color me clueless if you want, but i'll stick with whatever has the best and least broken platform, because unlike you who beta test slop like winblows10 for months and finds no bugs and annoyances with its design and architecture i find it very noticeable.

"I don't have to use my brain for anything on this site even battling "

oh i dunno about that, i'm sure your brain does overtime on it.

Jesus fucking christ! This thread....Really guys? This far? It's like I'm reading the posts of horny teens here. It is amusing, I admit, but you are taking it to far.

I digress:

Windows 10 Upgrade Nags Become More Aggressive

they are pushing that KBxxx5583 update again, just disable it and hide it again. Problem solved.
