- Rise of the Triad - Patch 1.5.1 Enables Crossplay Between
Steam & GOG - Interceptor Entertainment has released a new
patch for Rise of the Triad. This patch will update
your game's version
to 1.5.1, and comes with Crossplay Multiplayer support between the
game’s Steam and GOG versions. As Interceptor noted, Rise of the Triad
is the first game offering such a Crossplay support, so kudos to them.
In addition, this patch enables 64-bit compatibility, meaning
that this update will improve performance on a variety of PC
configurations. This patch also comes with various fixes for issues
that have
been reported by fans (though Interceptor has not revealed yet a
properchangelog of it). This update is 1.2GB in size and will be
auto-downloaded next
time you start the Steam client.
- Mortal Kombat X patch v1.02 - NetherRealm Studios has
released a performance patch for the PC version of Mortal
Kombat X. According to the team, this patch optimizes shaders to
improve graphics performance and fixes an issue to prevent replays from
using up too much hard drive storage space. In addition,
NetherRealm and Warner Bross are granting an
extra 10,000 Krypt Koins to all PC players.
FYI, Mortal Kombat X's first PC update is 15GB in size.
- Mortal Kombat X PC Modder Unlocks Unplayable Characters From
Campaign - A reddit user called 'XVermillion' has figured
out a way to unlock Baraka, Sindel, Rain, Corrupted Shinnok, and Tanya

opponents in the game’s single-player story mode - for use in training.
- Star Wars: Battlefront Will Be First Video Game Ever To
Support Dolby Atmos - For those who aren't exactly audiophiles,
Dolby Atmos is the latest audio codec from Dolby that takes surround
sound to the next level by allowing up to 128 audio tracks to run
through multiple speakers, including those mounted on the ceilings for
even greater immersion. Although most commonly used in commercial movie
theaters, the technology is catching on at home with recent Blu-rays
like Transformers: Age of Extinction and Expendables 3 featuring the
codec. Of course, Atmos is not the most realistic way to experience
audio as it requires no less than seven speakers, some of which must be
mounted on the ceiling or floor. Still, those will the setup will be
able to experience one of the most audibly immersive experiences of the
format yet. The codec will only be available on the PC version of the
game.
- Minecraft's Server-Crashing Exploit Is Finally Fixed - After
two years of attempting to get Mojang's attention, Askar took things
into his own hands by revealing the exploit publicly. With the exploit
going public, Mojang was forced to address the issue in Minecraft. Over
on the official Mojang website,
the company issued a quick fix on April 17th to address the bug.
According to the patch notes, bug MC-79079 (which 'can force a server
to freeze') and bug MC-79612 (which 'can force a server to go out
memory') have both been fixed.
- Steam Locks Features to Paying Customers Only - Valve is
set to introduce a new set of restrictions on Steam accounts in an
effort to reduce the occurrence of spam & phishing on their
service. One of which includes making group chat exclusively for those
of whom have spent at least $5 in the store.
