offers the trailer Cryptic is showing at the New York City Comic Con with
some gameplay from Champions Online, the upcoming superhero MMORPG
- Gears of War PC Certifiably Fixed -
This update
fixes an expired digital signatures issue that prevents all earlier versions
of the game from launching. This is a required update. Please download and
install the update before launching the game. This update incorporates all
previous updates and bug fixes for Gears of War for Windows, where
applicable
- Epic looks to serious Gears 2 multiplay alterations - Epic boss
Rod Fergusson's
posted on the offical website tonight to reveal a big change is being
considered for Gears 2 multiplayer, in that experience level is to be used
instead of TrueSkill
- Fallout 3 DLC Delay -
GameSpot reports setbacks for the second and third DLC packages for the
PC and Xbox 360 editions of Fallout 3, learning from Bethesda Softworks'
Pete Hines that, "The next DLC for Fallout 3, The Pitt, will be out in
March," and "Broken Steel will be out the following month, in April." No
reasons for the delays are offered.
- Dark Horse to publish Star Wars: The Old Republic online comic book -
Dark Horse and BioWare jointly announced
plans
to release an online-only comic book based on Star Wars: The Old
Republic, the upcoming MMO game that BioWare is developing for LucasArts and
EA. The online comic will launch later this month with new "issues"
appearing every other Friday on the game's official web site
- Sin 1: Source - Early Form Revealed - Before SiN: Episode 1 was
released, Ritual Entertainment was working on a Source version of the
original SiN. While this project never went public initially, one of the
former employees from the now dearly departed company has
released the rather unstable version of this project.
- Godfather game lawsuit settled - Last June Anthony Puzo, the son
of the late author of The Godfather novel Mario Puzo, filed a $1 million
lawsuit against Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the movie version.
Anthony Puzo claimed the movie studio failed to pay the Puzo estate on
royalties generated from the first EA Godfather game . Now the
Puzo estate and Paramount have apparently reached a settlement. As usual
in these cases, details about the settlement have not been revealed.
- Durham University uses Valve's Source Engine for fire drill
simulation - Researchers at England's Durham University recently found a
use for Valve's Source Engine that doesn't involve crowbars, headcrabs or
unsettling, suited men -- using the engine's relatively simple tools,
they've begun making fire drill simulations by recreating some of the
university's departments, then coating them in virtual flame. The
simulations are designed to not only teach users good fire safety practices,
but to see how users react when confronted with snarling, searing death.
