- Frostpunk: The Last Autumn Announced for January 21 - Frostpunk
is set in a frozen landscape. Players are the leader of the last
civilization on Earth and must work hard to keep your people alive. The
Last Autumn lets players see what led the world to that po0int. It
will pull back the curtain on the events that happened at Site 113 and
show the construction of the generator. Of course, the new narrative
isn’t the only thing to get
excited
about. Because this takes place in a world before the frost, players
will also be able to explore a new environment not yet encased in snow.
There is also a brand new Book of Laws. This gives players new ways to
shape their city that weren’t possible in the main game. And, it
wouldn’t be an expansion with new buildings and steam-powered
technologies to uncover and construct.

In a forum post thanking the fans for their
support, Obsidian has
quietly confirmed that story DLC will be coming to The Outer Worlds in
2020. Of course, with nothing to go on other than a sentence in an
official forum post, there's not much to extrapolate yet. Will the DLC
come in the form of a new crew member? Or maybe it’s a shorter tale
about a completely different crew? With a vast universe to draw upon,
there’s so much Obsidian could do with this. Whatever and whenever they
do announce the DLC, I will be here to let you know about it.

- Half-Life: Alyx Appearance at The Game Awards Was
Seemingly
Pulled at the Last Minute - Valve reportedly backed out of showing
Half-Life: Alyx at The Game
Awards near the final hour due to another major VR release that arrived
this week. Mere hours before the show, Valve communicated with its fans
over on Twitter that Half-Life: Alyx wouldn't
end up making an appearance at The Game Awards after all. "We're sorry
to say Half-Life: Alyx won't be shown at The Game Awards
tonight," read the tweet from Valve. "The team is hard at work on the
game, and we’re excited to show you more in the new year as we approach
the March release!" This entire situation begs the question: why did
Valve end up canceling
its plans to appear at The Game Awards? The answer, according to Valve
insider Tyler McVicker, the host of the Valve News Network YouTube
channel, is that it was primarily pushed because of the recent release
of the VR game Boneworks. Half-Life: Alyx is set to launch on PC via Steam this coming
March, but it still doesn’t have a specific release date.
